Talking about "self-custody" on a network with mining as centralized as Bitcoin is as a silly as thinking you have sovereignty over the money in your bank account because you're the only person who knows your login password.

“We did a soft fork that made it so that you can’t spend Coinbase rewards (which is what miners get paid with) for 45 days after they get mined. And what that meant was all of these miners that couldn’t care less about the health of the network weren’t able to instantly sell all their coins for fiat. And that just made the price go up and up and up. So a lot of them quit, while a lot of miners didn’t quit who were just hodlers. And it occurred to me that that is basically a hard and fast principle inside a blockchain: the less you pay miners, the greater a percentage of the remaining miners are there because they need to protect the network, not because they want to get a cheap, quick payday. The more you pay miners, the worse that ratio gets." Well said.

lol coming from a guy who shitcoins. You simply do not understand Bitcoin so you rage against it with your bs fud. Miners can change pools fast - look at Ocean when it backed your shitcoin fork - they lost over 80% of their miners within 48 hours - and the miners came back when Ocean started mining Bitcoin again. Pools may have the "power" you claim but they only have it as long as they do what the miners want. It's like saying your car has all the power - well, it can only use that power when you put your foot on the gas.

Great to see you again! I'll watch the video later, thanks!

I went through Mechanic withdrawal - there were some very difficult days. Now that you're back, I think we're both stronger for it. But, please don't leave for a month again. lol

I'm sorry no one liked your soft fork.

heyyy

Oh no, you're still here. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

So the same applied 5 years ago?

Grajear to see you back on track 👏🏽

Welcome back!

Welcome back

As always, an enlightening insight about mining. Long live DATUM

People on sha256 may as well just buy some stocks. Same thing. Or stocks may be batter

Good comparison. The banks are held by the necessity to keep the illusion going, just like the miner oligopoly has to maintain the illusion...for now. But those things don't last. It is certainly not the future. Minercoin can at best become a money printer, but not defeat it.

Scaling with big blocks solves the problem. Because tx's become so cheap that you can split $1000 into 1000 unrelated addresses which are never reused, so no one can track your coins. With small blocks tx are expensive so get grouped together. And with few txs it's easy to trace.

Great to see you alive and well🔥

Man this is so true and so many people just stuck there head in the sand

You’re back! Haven’t watched yet but was hoping the break allowed you to come to your senses… Please tell me you’re not still XBT’ing bro? You’re better than that.

Grow up man. Mining is how it is now, because you refuse to be a miner.

Everyone who would fight against the abuse of the network by centralized miners already left. Btc is all fur coat and no trousers now.

Welcome back!

Can you find one transaction that has been blocked by miners on the Bitcoin network since Jan 2009. Then, when you're done, can you explain how you justify blocking miners rewards for 365 days on the shitfork you and a few other commies dare call the "real Bitcoin."?

Happy to hear you coming back

Or delete a message on WhatsApp thinking is no where

Welcome back man, you were missed 🫡

@Versie21M Yeah, tell that to somebody escaping tyrants

Will you stop slop and drop if we all agree with you and move on? I mean, I'm willing to say you're correct. About as correct as all the other retards hanging around the Bitcoin space. Please for the love of Luke's god, just STFU already.

You can’t centralize power. Don’t be silly.

Summary: Peter Todd is EVIL.

Awesome 👍
