ABOUT TARIFFS... Can I just explain how wrong Donald Trump sounds to those of us in the import business? He’s bullshitting you. Here’s the truth: I work in imports, and Trump’s claims are false. The importer (the company bringing goods into the U.S.) pays the tariffs, and that cost is added to the price of the product. Depending on the profit margin, part of that cost gets passed on to you, the consumer—but it's not a fixed amount. The country where the product comes from doesn’t pay the tariff. Tariffs are added to the price when the goods arrive in the U.S. So, in the end, WE—the American consumers—are the ones paying the tariffs through higher prices at the store.

So let me get this straight. You slap tariffs on China… then you raise them… then raise them again, which makes China slam us with massive retaliatory tariffs. Then you lift those tariffs for a few weeks like it’s a limited-time Netflix subscription, only to maybe bring them back… because we’re supposedly trying to “bring manufacturing home.” But wait! We're also using those same tariffs that we want to remove to raise revenue to pay down the debt, by taxing the very industries we want to move here, while simultaneously negotiating trade deals that would eliminate most tariffs altogether. And through all of this, we’re telling China, “We’ll stop our tariffs if you stop your tariffs,” like it's a playground standoff between toddlers with lunch money. Totally makes sense. Crystal clear. What a flawless strategy.
