There are smart tariffs and there are not smart tariffs. Every type of tax, tariffs included, has pros and cons. Done well, tariffs can provide a source of revenue while simultaneously reducing geopolitical risk. But to be effective, they need to be engineered prudently, efficiently, and surgically.

They BROKE the economy, BROKE the border, and BROKE American health care — and now think they can lecture the American people about how to fix it. Their policies made premiums SKYROCKET and now demand hundreds of billions more for big insurance companies in a system RIDDLED with fraud and abuse. You can’t be an arsonist AND a firefighter. Democrats need to hear that.
