This propaganda starts with the lie that a lower tax rate on massively larger amount of wealth is more than a high rate on very little. If someone pays a lower percentage on a vastly larger amount of income and still contributes far more in absolute dollars than the average person, pretending they're somehow not paying their fair share is propaganda, not arithmetic. What some people call "effectively nothing" often amounts to more than most people will pay in taxes over a lifetime, and most of what's paid.

This is complete garbage; in 2024–25, the top 1% of income tax payers earned 13.3% of total income but paid 28.2% of all income tax. And, the top 5% accounts for around half the income tax — the top 5% of earners received 24.4% of total income but paid 48.2% of all income tax. QED

Are you at all concerned about what happens to that tax money Gary? Throwing money at the problem isn't really working. That just create corruption and apathy within government it would seem.

We’re going back to the Victorian days, where the rich owned everything and the country were treated as slaves working in the Victorian work houses. This must not be allowed to return

This is wildly stupid. Wealth taxes raise a tiny percentage of what income taxes raise.

Taxes go up, services go down. More money won’t fix the problem. Preventing waste and fraud will.

Horrible ideas from Gary as usual. All that's needed payroll and income tax rates of people's first $100,000 or equivalent amount in your currency at 0%, and then reduce government regulations, excessive laws, and zoning/development rules. People would tangibly have more and need to spend less and can finally breathe.

If you knew anything about economics you’d know that if you tax wealth, wealth will disappear completely because it doesn’t actually exist. It’s fungible. That’s why it fluctuates. You tax it and it will disappear.

Terrible idea. The only thing approaching "fairness" when it comes to a tax policy would be a flat tax. Everyone pays the same percentage of their earnings (ALL earnings). No write-offs. No loopholes. No loop holes. That coupled with ending govt money laundering and we'd be good.

Tax wealth?? Wealth has not changed... You are implying that the government tax nominal price increases?? You are seriously advocating for large scale fiscal seigniorage?? What you need to do is stop the bottom 85% of society from increasing the money supply through the use of credit.

Because whatever the plan, it cannot be retrospective taxation. The rules at the time were the rules that shaped decisions. Do what you like with taxes but I think a notice period is fair. Say, 25 years.
