Taxation without representation‼️

Puerto Rico needs representation and voting rights. DC needs to be a state.

Puerto Rico isn't the only one. People from Guam, the Northern Marianas, American Samoa, and the US Virgin Islands are all United States citizens, but lack the voice, the representation, that other Americans enjoy.

Puerto Ricans have voted multiple times in the past to not become a US state. Things are not quite as simple as you portray.

Puerto Rican residents do not pay US income taxes.

If all the territories were brought into the union as states, they would most likely vote blue and republicans would never hold the Senate again.

U.S. citizens that can’t vote. Puerto Rico like Guam are territories and not eligible for statehood. They are only partially covered by the constitution.

They can vote for their independence just like all the other countries that are colonize territories. They have chosen not to. The Spain attacks us. Most of these countries that the Spanish had conquered either chose independence like Cuba or to be a territory.

They are just a territory. They can participate in primaries but can’t vote for President. They can travel to the U.S. mainland. We also promise them military protection and give federal monies in emergencies but they run themselves. Have local government and unique culture.

And this why I want my island to be independent I’m done with the colonization we a clearly being held hostage against our will at this point
