We’re cramming kids with useless stuff like valence electrons, photosynthesis, and iambic pentameter while skipping the hands-on trades that actually build America. Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, construction, these jobs pay serious money, need no college debt, and lead to real freedom and entrepreneurship. Big thanks to the mentors showing the way. Time to get kids building again! 💪

A dad’s greatest skill is knowing when to lose. I honestly love that he saw the prank through the door and didn't even hesitate to ruin his afternoon just to give them a win. Most of us would’ve yelled about the cleaning up, but he understood that those few seconds of chaos were worth way more than a tidy hallway. It’s a masterclass in "letting them win" because when you let your kids 'get' you, you’re actually teaching them that they’re clever enough to take on the world and build everlasting memories.

This week, as further proof, I present the unexampled, unrelenting, indefatigable…Judaline Cassidy. Judaline is a plumber, working out of Local Union #1 in Long Island City, the oldest plumber’s union in the country. But she’s more than a 4’9” firecracker with a 10-foot personality from Trinidad and Tobago, determined to be the best plumber in America. She’s also the force behind Tools & Tiaras Inc.®️, a nonprofit that exposes young girls to the opportunities in the trades while showing them just how far a person can go with a decent work ethic and the mastery of a useful skill. The party I grew up with, believed in discipline, strategy, and showing up united when it counted. Somewhere along the way, that got hijacked. Start building for an agent-first world. If you have a product, you need to start offering skills for Claude, Codex, Cursor, and any other agents. Your skills should specify: • How to navigate and use your product • Best practices the agent must follow • Detailed instructions on how to accomplish things • Anti-patterns to avoid Redis is one of the most popular in-memory data stores in the world, and they just released their agent skills. It takes one second to install, and it will turn your agent into a Senior Redis Engineer: $ npx skills add redis/agent-skills In the attached video, I show you how to install it as a plugin in Claude Code and some of its benefits. This is the easiest way to "teach" models what they don't know and keep their knowledge up to date. If you ask me, skills is literally one of the most brilliant ideas that Anthropic has put out there. If you use Redis, their skill is a must-have. If you don't, this skill will show you how to build and structure yours. Here is what their skill teaches your agent: 1. We teach our students entrepreneurship from a young age. This is an annual flea market where students bring their used toys, books and anything they don’t want to school to sell to their fellow schoolmates and even teachers. Before the market starts, we teach them how to advertise, price, negotiate and give change. This way, they can learn the art of buying and selling, get rid of things they don’t want and have fun. These are practical skills and knowledge that we should also give our children in Nigeria. Not all of them, but some of them will find their calling in business and can start at a young age. Our teachers have an instrumental role to play in teaching them, encouraging them and gaining other skills other than just teaching students what is in text books. The online world now is providing more opportunities to do business, and kids should be in this action. It will sow seeds for our future business ecosystem and add more value to our economy.
