Teaching unions have slammed proposals from Ofsted to replace the current single-phrase review of schools with a new, colour-coded report card. The inspection system used by the education watchdog was heavily criticised following the death of headteacher Ruth Perry in 2023, but the plans for a more nuanced approach... show more

The old Ofsted system was based on someone arriving at your school and doing a 1 day assessment which could see you on your best or worst day . The review needs to be done over a period of time to get a more realistic view (at least a month of regular visits)

You wanted Ofsted scoring rid of, blaming the very sad death of a woman with obvious mental health problems on problems & inadequacies within the school she ran & now they’ve changed it you’re not happy! Schools must NOT be allowed not to be inspected. Improvements MUST be core!

I’ve said it before, teachers are the worse at one line reports for the kids, yet they can’t cope with it when they are subject to it! If they cant hack it then they aren’t suited to teaching.

Ofsted should be showing which schools are the worst and which schools are failing and why, if the school staff can't perform then they need to be changed, and I am sorry but if the school head can't handle the job or stress then it's up them to get help and not kill themselves.

Awful they will only look at attainment. Results don’t reflect how good an inclusive school is. Happy pupils well behaved and going onto the next destination successfully.

Why is it okay for the school my son attends to mark his behaviour, attendance, school work, and homework with a traffic light system, but the official body can't do the same to them 🤔?

Why not just change the ratings to what the headteachers really want and let them write their own ratings 🤷♂️

The irony. If only the teachers did not use single numbers and letters to grade pupils.

We need to be really careful not to lose sight of what Ofsted is for, to make sure our children’s education is safe and effective. Our children get one shot at early years and education. We seem to be forgetting this. It is stressful for teachers but we cannot forget our children

@susannareid100 Where is @edballs useless wife Yvette Cooper she is a member of this useless Government who is approving all these new polices
