Babies are so smart!! I started teaching sign language for milk when l breastfed my baby at 4 months, by 8 months she was signing for milk instead of crying for it.

I think it's up to the parent, but I can see the benefits. Babies absolutely have survival instincts. Rooting, Moro reflex, sucking, grasping,, turning the head to one side when placed on tummy. Teaching this is better than plopping baby in front of screen.

The video is really cute and looks like a simple game (kind of like peek-a-boo), but it’s important to remember that newborn babies (especially under 6 months) don’t have reliable enough motor skills to remove anything covering their face every time, particularly while sleeping.

My Vietnamese friend says this lady is trying to teach the baby to discover its hands, not specifically to pull the cloth off its face. The cloth provides an unpleasant stimulation to give the child a reason to discover its hands. That’s why she keeps repeating “where are your hands?”

Play peekaboo when your baby is 9-10 months old and they’ll get the idea without the trauma and tears
