Speaking to Al Mayadeen on Monday, Professor Mohammad Marandi said that Yemen has the ability to inflict “far greater damage” on Saudi Arabia than Riyadh can inflict on Yemen. He explained that Saudi Arabia has major and costly infrastructure, including oil facilities, whose destruction or damage would severely impact its economy. Yemen, however, “because of years of siege and because of the genocidal war,” does not have similarly expensive infrastructure that could be targeted.
