The reason they attack the voting system is that they fundamentally don't believe that every Indian is equal. In their mind, there is no way a Dalit person is the same as an upper-caste person. They can't even compute that. And that's, to me, the real revolution in India in 1947 - we said that every language, every religion, and every idea in India is equal.
