Tennessee high school graduates were met with torrential rainfall while receiving their diplomas. Though the rain wasn't ideal, "it made for an iconic graduation night," said Victoria Burls, whose daughter was graduating. "Everyone out there were mostly in high spirits and excited because it was still graduation night!"

When Ireland was white: - We left the front doors unlocked. - Children played safely outside. - Keys were left in cars. - Women walked home from pubs. - Our neighbours were our friends. - Skin colour wasn't discussed. - Night-time didn't mean danger. - Trust was high and fear was low. - Community events were real, not organised by NGOs. - Everyone was happy and excited about the future. Ireland was a much better country when it was overwhelmingly white.

Mountain View in the late 1980s. This was the Mountain View High School football team in 1988. Every football player you remember from high school is right there. They were there then, they are there now, and they will still be there forty years from today. Mountain View was suburbia. Rows and rows of single family homes, and El Camino Real lined with liquor stores, motels, car lots, and strip malls. The same stores for miles and miles. Friday nights meant high school football. After dark the parking lots filled with kids who had nowhere else to be, just loitering the way high school kids did then. That was what youth looked like. Nowhere to go. Nothing to do. A whole night in a town that packed it in early. I miss it now because I didn’t know that was the good part.

Colleges are using AI name readers to announce students' names during graduation ceremonies. Students scan their phones like they're in a checkout line before an AI voice reads their names. PACE University was seen using the technology during its commencement ceremony. "Our names are getting read by AI at graduation ... getting the ick at my own graduation," said one student. "It is AI. We were directly told so! We gave a website spelling and it instantly gave us an audio," said the student. "PACE told us it was AI ... We had to type out phonetic spelling, then it instantly generated audio for us to preview."

This family had a dilemma on graduation day. Their son was graduating from college and their daughter was graduating from high school on the same day. The son had told his folks to not worry about him and to go to his sister’s graduation ceremony. So, what do you do? The parents had no choice, they split up and the dad went to his son’s ceremony and mom went to her daughter’s graduation. Brother and sister FaceTimed after their ceremonies. ❤️ Some said the college graduation was more important and they should have both went there. I disagree. I think they handled it perfectly. No matter how old, your children are going to look for you. It matters to have family there. Beautiful family, congratulations to both of them. Your future is looking very bright. Good job mom and dad. 👏 Have you ever faced this situation? What did you do? Or, what would you do if you had to choose? Would you do exactly what the parents did here?

This was my walk today in the rain through the destroyed neighborhoods where people still live despite everything. The scene was unbearably painful… water flooded what’s left of the houses, and there was no dry place left for anyone to sleep. I saw families standing all night because their mattresses were soaked, and the ground was completely covered in mud and rain. Children were shivering from the cold, and the adults were desperately trying to protect what little belongings they had left.
