#WATCH | Delhi | "Our relations and dealings with Pakistan will be strictly bilateral. That is a national consensus for years, and there is absolutely no change in that. The prime minister made it very clear that talks with Pakistan will be only on terror. Pakistan has a list of terrorists that needs to be handed over, and they have to shut down the terrorists' infrastructure. They know what to do. We are prepared to discuss with them what is to be done about terrorism. Those are the talks which are feasible," says EAM Dr S Jaishankar.

He adds that Afghanistan's airspace must no longer be violated, ISIS centers in Pakistan must be shut down, & Pakistan should cease supporting other groups against Afghanistan. Furthermore, Pakistani territory must no longer be used against Afghanistan. The Torkham route must be opened. We have told Pakistan multiple times that trade & politics should be kept separate; ordinary people & traders should not become victims of political disputes. The Pakistani side had promised in Doha to open the routes, but they have taken no practical action, & the route remains closed. Anyone who engages in talks must have reasonable demands; it cannot be that one only presents their own demand & rejects the other side's. That is not negotiation. In negotiations, the reasonable points of both sides must be respected.
