Tesla FSD 12.3.6 Recognizing Hand Signals?! Is FSD 12 finally recognizing hand held stop signs and hand signals given by roadway workers? I tested this in an actual functioning construction zone with traffic being diverted wrong way and witnessed some impressive results! What are your thoughts on this?

I experimented and found this was not the case with 12.3.3. I don't have ..6 yet (on ..5) but will test as soon as I get it, and definitely when we all get 12.4. Thanks for the update: hand signals would be a great addition to the corner cases!

It’s perfect, but what if it reacts to the wrong person giving the sign gesture. Does this mean that all you need to control a FSD Tesla is a hand gesture from anyone?

Not sure how I feel about it recognizing hand signals at this time. I've seen too many construction workers not paying attention with their hand signals.

@kylaschwaberow I’m driving CA to NC and FSD doesn’t see blownout trucker tire rubber at all. Cones are great and all but hard rubber is frequently dangerous. I stopped using FSD before I left CA

@kylaschwaberow Freeway driving is not using the v12 codebase yet. It’s still on a slightly improved 11. The big difference in freeway driving will be seen when they merge it over to the 12 code

Chris Dirty Tesla showed an example of FSD V12 not responding to a ball being thrown in front of it. However, he didn’t test with FSD v12.6.4 and he admitted that in the comments. This version is very different than 12.3.6 and other previous versions. It’s more of a “v13 lite” than anything else. Those who have it know that it’ll stop for squirrels crossing the road. Here are some tests I did with a similar ball using FSD v12.6.4.

He points out NGP almost always comes to an abrupt halt when humans or mopeds get real close or cross intersections as evidenced in this clip, even though there is ample time to gradually slow down, making driving extremely uncomfortable. This is not an isolated case. It exists with other XPeng owners. On the other hand, the owner says FSD is very reassuring and predictable. Other systems may have a fewer takeover rates than FSD for now but he still prefers FSD because of its driving comfort, smoothness and confidence.

Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me. The car understands the entire social sequence: It KNOWS to stop at the ordering station. It KNOWS when the order is complete and autonomously pulls forward. At the final window, it leaves the exact moment his card is returned-not when the food is handed over. It's not just following a path; it's recognizing that the transaction is finished. FSD V14.1.7 Takes me downtown to see a show with the push of a button. It's absolutely incredible what a Tesla is capable of on V14. This is a ~50 minute drive and it ends in an underground parking garage and it was 100% handled by FSD, all I did was press a button.

This is so cool! 🤯🤯 I just tested the new Avatar IV lip-syncing model by HeyGen. It now includes hand gesture control, and the results are impressive! This could be a strong solution for creating consistent AI characters with multiple camera angles. I’m excited to use it in my upcoming short films!

Breadcrumbs of Banish appear to be in the latest Actually Smart Summon release. My Model 3 parked itself on ASS (FSD v14.3.2) after I blocked the road and used hand signals to direct it into a parking spot (target was on opposite side of the building). I've never seen it do this before. It didn't just pull in across the lines, it parked near-perfectly like it does on FSD. Worked with my Model 3 and TeslaFSD - Dave's Model Y on first attempt. Of course when I brought out the camera it took like 7 tries, but it eventually did it again! Not enough data to conclude if it's actually listening to my hand signals, or just giving up and deciding to park instead of block the road. Would be interesting to see if other people can try and replicate this. Everything is there for Banish to work, just comes down to Tesla feeling comfortable enough to let it go unsupervised in parking lots.

Have we just had an Autopilot update in the 🇬🇧 UK?? Today I was on AP and the car stopped at traffic lights but this time there were no stop markings. I am quite sure this is new behaviour. Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe.. it's some FSD code? What software version?

🚨🚨🚨 Trigger Warning: There is a lot of FUD thrown at me in this Tesla FSD/Uber video about Tesla and Tesla FSD. I attempted to swat all of it away, and believe I did so, but I'm sure I will get comments about how I should have said this or that. So let me say ahead of time, thank you so much for your amazingly helpful comment😂 ------------------------------------------------------------ Tesla FSD 14.1.4 Ubers a Prius owner for his first experience in a Tesla and with FSD. This guy started out the drive throwing a ton of FUD at me for the first 4-5 minutes, but the funniest part of the video is the 2nd half of it, where you can literally hear the cognitive dissonance about FSD that has been comfortably planted in his head, not have any clue where to go when confronted with the reality of what he is experiencing right then, first hand. And just FYI, don't go too hard on this guy, he gave me a great rating and a nice tip. He seemed like a good dude, he's just been given bad data, and now he's got better data, the kind he experienced himself versus reading stuff online.

Not your usual construction situation. It's got to not only be reading the hand held stop sign and the hand gestures but a couple of times, started to move then quickly realized its not yet time.
