Tesla, I wasn't aware this was a problem. Regular Tesla owners aren't aware that they are charging slowly (75 kw) at urban chargers when there are superchargers (250) right next to them. I think your looking at this wrong. If they are staying for a long period of time, they probably don’t want to charge at a supercharger for only 30 minutes. The urban charger can be left for multiple hours.

Maybe they want to charge slow so they can do things. I charge at 6.6 kwh so I can do my shopping thus saving $.30 a kWh

Today I learned those were called urban chargers. Lol I've used it once to charge while I eat. Its great because I didn't need to rush to move the car.

Maybe they prefer to charge slower. If you have the time or need to stop longer and want to be gentler on the battery, 75kw is good enough

I live by 2 super charging stations one 150kw and other is 325 kw however people always go to 150 kw because the rate their is $0.30/kw while 325 kw station is $0.43/kw people go for the cheaper one

If you are ignorant enough to both not notice it isnt a supercharger stall and not see high charging speeds, that's on you. The supercharger are clearly different. This also looks like a clear edge case where its lined up directly next to hotel chargers. Pretentious post.

If I’m at the hotel I’d use the urban charger to not block the supercharger and have a little more wiggle room to come back to the car when full.

But if the erban chargers are at a hotel, they should be free if your staying there, whereas the superchargers cost. And if they are staying at the hotel, they aren't in a hurry to charge. And a slow free charger, to them is better than a fast non-free one.

Very true. Many Tesla owners have no clue of different charge speeds and power. They think a plug is a plug. The car should inform them.

Dude, it’s because they don’t want to take up a supercharger they want to be able to go inside go to sleep and enjoy their evening while their vehicle slowly charges overnight and that way they have a parking place and they’re plugged in

If your there overnight, it’s easier on your battery. A lot of those don’t require you to move your car right away

I use urban ones if I absolutely have no choice. I am generally chasing the Tesla Superchargers - they are way faster AND CHEAPER! Some of the non-Tesla/urban ones also use the combo adapter which I do not have - what a hassle.

I whish more places had them. Sometimes I need to charge but dont want to do a quick charge.

This looks like it’s at a hotel no? I would assume they are using the L2 chargers so they don’t have to rush or stand near their cars. No point in standing outside for 30 minutes to avoid fees when you can charge for a couple hours while you’re inside sleeping.

Those are called destination chargers, and they are free. They are also great when you know that you’re gonna be somewhere for an extended amount of time and want to slowly charge so that you don’t have to go move your car.

Is it possible that some people are slow charging intentionally since they are staying at the hotel to leave the faster chargers open for people that may be in a hurry?

Tesla could possibly help this by having a pop-up available with a very concise summary of how to choose the best charger. I say possibly, because some people would actively choose the opposite of what it advises.

75kw is still decent, especially if you're at 50% or more.

I've not come across the Urban chargers in the real world (I think ATL has some and I was near some in Chicago), but they kinda look like a V3 and a V4 mated, and these are the offspring! Was there a specific use case for them?

The "urban chargers" you mentioned though are showing Teslas, I highly doubt Tesla people would choose something else other then Tesla. Seems odd.
