Keir Starmer has said nothing. No criticism. No warning. No defence of international law. That silence now sits next to Trump’s own words. Brexit Britain was sold sovereignty. What it delivered was dependency. Outside the EU, the UK no longer anchors itself in collective law or restraint, it orbits US power instead. And when the US openly abandons the rules, Britain looks away. You cannot defend Ukraine and excuse this. You cannot condemn Putin and stay silent on Trump. You cannot claim to stand for law while backing occupation “until we decide”. Trump isn’t hiding what he’s doing. He’s boasting. A constitutional majority, the highest expression of democratic will, voted to define family as a union between a mother and a father, affirmed that there are only two sexes, and declared that national culture and ethics belong to the nation, not to Brussels. And how did the EU respond? Not with respect. Not with debate. But with legal action. The EU Commission is now punishing Slovakia, not for corruption, not for authoritarianism, not for breaking EU treaties, but for affirming what most of its people believe: that identity, family, and biological sex are not up for bureaucratic negotiation. When Germany enforces its definition of morality through censorship laws, no infringement letters are sent. But when a Slavic nation upholds traditional family structures, suddenly, it’s a crisis for democracy? No. The crisis is in Brussels. Because if a sovereign nation can no longer decide who can adopt children, what words mean “mother” and “father,” or how it defines its culture, then the EU is no longer a union, it’s an empire in disguise. On 31st August the European Union said it welcomes economic pressure on Iran, including through the US led Operation Economic Outcast. On 3rd September the US Treasury Secretary Bessent said the EU had officially joined it. Three days, two verbs, and the gap between them is where the whole campaign sits. The EU text is on its own website and it never says joined. It leads with diplomacy and freedom of navigation through Hormuz, welcomes additional pressure, and says Europe remains ready to act further only where necessary. No new package. No shared designation list. No enforcement mechanism. No EU measure adopting Washington's five new determinations. Those determinations are real. Treasury launched the campaign on 24th August, extending secondary sanctions across digital assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping, and named nearly 60 people, entities and vessels. But American authorities do not become European law because an American secretary calls Europe an ally. European law points the other way. Council Regulation 2271/96 forbids EU firms from obeying specified extraterritorial US sanctions on Iran without Commission authorisation, and in 2021 the Court of Justice confirmed an Iranian counterparty can enforce that in a civil court, in Bank Melli Iran against Telekom Deutschland. Whether the annex reaches these particular determinations has not been publicly clarified. No authorisation has been published. That unresolved collision matters more than the congratulatory post. Saying yes was cheap anyway. EU goods trade with Iran was 3.7 billion euros in 2025. Then there is the omission. Bessent says the campaign will not stop until every remaining financial lifeline is severed. China is Iran's only major remaining oil customer, and the 24 August package designated no major Chinese bank suspected of moving that money. The barrels had already stopped without any of it. After the American blockade was reinstated on 14th July, trackers recorded no meaningful fresh Iranian crude reaching China through Hormuz for roughly seven weeks. August loadings ran between 220,000 and 255,000 barrels a day, against about 1.7 million a year earlier. The revenue is being cut at sea. The test that would cut it at the bank has not been run.

So I stuck up my hand and asked for a situation where LiDAR and camera is safer than camera only approaches, which his company sells too. “A child all in black at night, particularly around a corner.” So tonight after I drove my friend home at 2:30 a.m. I studied this in deep detail in my wife’s Model Y with hardware 4 and Tesla Self Driving controlling the car. 1. Cameras can see far more than humans can at night. 2. Modern cars come with matrix headlights. Which go around the turn and illuminate anywhere a car can turn. 3. Every intersection has a light on almost every intersection. Where there is none why would a child in black be playing on the street in the dark. 4. Tesla has a “zoomed in” telephoto camera as one of the cameras under the windshield so it can actually see ahead far better than a human can. Plus the other night this car drove around a clump of dirt and rocks on the road at 50 mph. I didn’t even see it until the car had already quickly turned around it. I give you his speech here. The Iranian news agency Mehr, citing the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has published all 14 clauses of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the US: 1. Permanent and immediate cessation of war on all fronts, including Lebanon. 2. The US commitment to non-interference in Iran's internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 3. Complete lifting of the naval blockade within 30 days. 4. The US commitment to withdraw its forces from around Iran. 5. Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days under Iranian arrangements. 6. Suspension of sanctions on the sale of oil, petrochemical products, and derivatives, and full access of Iran to its financial resources. 7. The necessity for the US and its allies to present reconstruction plans for Iran amounting to at least 300 billion dollars. 8. 60 days of negotiations to reach a final agreement based on nuclear issues and the complete lifting of primary, secondary, US sanctions, and UN Security Council and IAEA Board of Governors resolutions. 9. Reiteration of Iran's commitment under the NPT treaty not to produce nuclear weapons. 10. During the negotiation period, the US has committed not to add forces in the region and not to impose new sanctions. 11. Release of 24 billion dollars of Iran's blocked funds during the 60-day final negotiation period. Half of this amount must be made available to Iran before the start of negotiations. 12. Formation of a supervisory mechanism to implement the agreement. 13. The final agreement will be approved by a UN Security Council resolution. 14. Final negotiations will not begin before the release of half of Iran's blocked funds, suspension of Iran's oil sanctions, and lifting of the naval blockade, and the final agreement will only cover the fate of enriched materials and enrichment, lifting of sanctions, and Iran's economic reconstruction plan. Discussions about Iran's missile program and support for resistance groups are definitively removed from the agenda. That is what happened to author Jacques Baud, a former Swiss colonel and intelligence analyst. Today, he can't buy food or return home to Switzerland. Not because of a crime, but because of an EU decree. ❌ No credit cards ❌ No bank access ❌ No right to work ❌ Travel ban in the EU “All my credit cards were canceled; all my bank cards were blocked. That means there is no way to buy anything," he told AUF1. The EU can now financially execute dissenters with a new sanction power. Baud cannot even accept gifts from friends or family, including food or diapers for newborns, as these are now considered criminal offenses. These same sanctions may be coming for dissidents across Europe in the coming years. “What happens to me can happen to anyone tomorrow because there is no rule of law here. I have not committed a crime or violated any law, yet the sanctions were still imposed.” Why were these sanctions issued? The unelected Council of the EU accused Baud of "implementing or supporting actions or policies attributable to the Government of the Russian Federation which undermine or threaten stability or security in a third country (Ukraine) by engaging in the use of information manipulation and interference." “I have not been allowed to travel within the EU since mid-December 2025," said Baud. No criminal offense was alleged, and no judicial process was initiated. He was simply punished by decree. Since mid-December, he has been unable to go shopping and has survived only on food given to him by friends—an act that likely puts those friends in criminal jeopardy. Baud notes that even if he had engaged in propaganda — which he denies — there is "no law against propaganda." He maintains that he has no contact with Russia, has never received money from the Kremlin, and does not support Russian propaganda. Baud's case is a worrying sign of where the EU is headed.
