NEWS: A massive new $450 million Tesla Megapack battery energy storage system is now operational in Victoria, Australia. It's the biggest completed battery project on Australia’s main grid, and one of largest battery projects in the world. It features 444 Tesla Megapacks and three Toshiba 500kV HV transformers, for a total of 600 megawatts of capacity and 1,600 megawatt hours of storage. It will soak up excess wind & solar power during the daytime and shift that energy to the evening peaks.

Many are confused by Elon Musk's comment that the Tesla's new more affordable model is "a Model Y." Most people think this just means a cheaper, stripped-down trim. In this video, I'll explain my theory: Tesla is actually launching a new, shorter wheelbase Model Y. By doing so, I think Tesla can cut $6-8K off the price (smaller battery, no sunroof, fewer luxury features) and open up a larger addressable market. This would give Tesla THREE Model Y variants (ie., iPhone lineup of Standard, Pro, Pro Max: • Model Y S (Short) - Shorter, fewer features • Model Y (Standard) - Current version we all know • Model Y L (Long) - 6 seats, premium features, higher price This is just speculation on my part, so I could be wrong. What do you think?

NEWS: The Tesla Model Y and Model 3 have received Euro NCAP's Best in Class award for safety. “Model Y proved the gold standard for small SUVs, specifically excelling in Child Occupant protection and Safety Assist tests,” Euro NCAP said. "The updated Tesla Model 3 remains a leader in safety. The electric family car achieved high scores across the board and particularly impressed in Child Occupant protection. A software update expected in Q3 will activate the system, enabling dynamic airbag deployment based on passenger size and positioning. Additionally, the system will detect if there is a child left behind in the second row and monitor heart rate and breathing. In emergency situations, it can call 911, open the windows, and turn on HVAC if needed. Incredible work by the Tesla team!
