TITANIC This is a technical drawing depicting the machinery compartment cross-sections of the White Star Line's RMS Olympic, the famous sister ship of the Titanic. The blueprint shows two vertical cross-sections through the ship’s hull: The top illustration (Fig. 22) displays the layout of the two main engines, propeller shafts, steam boilers, turbines, and other machinery components. The bottom illustration (Fig. 23) shows the central arrangement with boilers and the piping system connected to the propulsion system.
