After weeks of beta Testflight, our new app Peek Weather, is out 🌈🌙🌞☀️ The app is completely free to use Why did we build another Weather app? Where I live in Oslo, the default Apple weather app does not give correct forecast and I have to rely on a local app to get forecast I don't feel like any weather apps outside, either they are complicated and confusing. Their UI is plain and not clear, it takes time to tell whether an a number is degree or hour or day. I want the app to look like we look at the sky. When we look outside, we see the sky, the sun, and when it's raining, we see rain. At night, we see night sky. I always wish a weather app to look just like that

Building Data Pipelines has levels to it: - level 0 Understand the basic flow: Extract → Transform → Load (ETL) or ELT This is the foundation. - Extract: Pull data from sources (APIs, DBs, files) - Transform: Clean, filter, join, or enrich the data - Load: Store into a warehouse or lake for analysis You’re not a data engineer until you’ve scheduled a job to pull CSVs off an SFTP server at 3AM! level 1 Master the tools: - Airflow for orchestration - dbt for transformations - Spark or PySpark for big data - Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift for warehouses - Kafka or Kinesis for streaming Understand when to batch vs stream. Most companies think they need real-time data. They usually don’t. level 2 Handle complexity with modular design: - DAGs should be atomic, idempotent, and parameterized - Use task dependencies and sensors wisely - Break transformations into layers (staging → clean → marts) - Design for failure recovery. If a step fails, how do you re-run it? From scratch or just that part? Learn how to backfill without breaking the world. level 3 Data quality and observability: - Add tests for nulls, duplicates, and business logic - Use tools like Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, or built-in dbt tests - Track lineage so you know what downstream will break if upstream changes Know the difference between: - a late-arriving dimension - a broken SCD2 - and a pipeline silently dropping rows At this level, you understand that reliability > cleverness. level 4 Build for scale and maintainability: - Version control your pipeline configs - Use feature flags to toggle behavior in prod - Push vs pull architecture - Decouple compute and storage (e.g. Iceberg and Delta Lake) - Data mesh, data contracts, streaming joins, and CDC are words you throw around because you know how and when to use them. What else belongs in the journey to mastering data pipelines?

Detect where and when change happened, anywhere on Earth. Historical imagery already lets you travel through time and gives essential context for projects. But, finding change across time and space can feel like a needle in a haystack. With Google Earth's new tool, detecting change is as easy as point and click: ⚡ Activate the tool and see an instant preview. 📅 Pick two years and compare annual intervals between 2017 and 2025 across your area of interest. ✏️ Draw a polygon to get increased granularity from 40-meters to 10-meters and save the view to your project. 🔥 Read the heatmap to see where the planet changed. 🕰️ Dive into historical imagery and historical street view to inspect further and inform what tools or data layers you might need next! GeoLibre v1.1 is out! GeoLibre is a free and open-source, lightweight, cloud-native GIS platform for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing geospatial data. One application that runs everywhere: in your web browser, as a native desktop app, on your phone, and inside a Jupyter notebook. No account, no server, no cost. Everything runs locally and your data stays private. This release builds on the v1.0 foundation with features that make day-to-day mapping smoother: - Attribute table management — rename, delete, hide/show, and reorder fields right in the table, with the layout saved to your project. - Data-driven symbology for Add Vector Layer — single, categorized, graduated, and expression-based styling now applies to maplibre-gl-vector layers. - Atmosphere Effects plugin — a deep-space backdrop, parallax starfield, comets, and a glowing globe halo at low zoom (toggle it from the Controls menu). - Layer panel upgrades — rename layers, open the attribute table, and export straight from the layer actions menu. - Auto Refresh extended to Add Vector Layer URL layers. - In-browser GeoPandas via Pyodide — run the vector tools with no Python sidecar, same results. - Plugin API — external plugins can now render on the host's shared instance via app.getDeckGL(). Try the live demo: Star it on GitHub: Docs and roadmap: Release notes: #GIS #OpenSource #Geospatial #MapLibre #WebGIS #DuckDB #GeoLibre

Half an hour into the most recent Joe Rogan podcast, Joe and Matthew McConaughey imagined AI that could deeply understand you, learn from your private data, and give proactive support without sacrificing your privacy. AI that could know your favorite books, your personal information, even your thought patterns, and return insights to help you understand yourself better. They spoke of this like a vision for the future, but at LedgerAI, that future already exists. AuraVision is our private AI platform that keeps your data where it belongs, with you. •Your data is stored locally, not in the cloud. •You can ingest AuraVision with exquisite data about yourself or your company: your strategies, workflows, knowledge, and goals. • In return, AuraVision provides actionable advice and intelligence, turning your private information into secure, personal insights. Whether you are a doctor, lawyer, government body, a financial institution, or even Joe Rogan or Matthew McConaughey, AuraVision makes AI adoption real, practical, and secure, accessed via our native token, $LEDGER. The difference is simple: while others are still imagining, we’re already building. Train by day, AuraVision by night, all day! We’ve left a link to the episode in the replies, leave your thoughts!

GeoLibre v2.5.0 is here! GeoLibre is a free and open-source, lightweight, cloud-native GIS platform for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing geospatial data. It runs everywhere you do, in the web browser, on the desktop, on mobile, and inside Jupyter notebooks, all while keeping your data local and private. This release is about meeting you where your work already lives: open your QGIS and ArcGIS Pro projects directly, talk to your team on the map itself, explore hyperspectral imagery as a 3D cube, work in discrete global grids, and host sharing and live collaboration on your own server. It is also the most community-driven release so far: 121 pull requests and 52 issues closed in 8 days, from 14 contributors, 12 of whom sent their first contribution to GeoLibre in this cycle. Thank you all. What's new in v2.5.0 - Comments on the map: pin a comment to any location or feature, reply in a thread, resolve it when it is handled. - Live collaboration, on your own server: several people can open the same session and see each other's edits, cursors, and comments in real time. - QGIS and ArcGIS Pro project import: open a .qgs, .qgz, .aprx, or .mapx and get the layers. - Discrete global grids: three new DGGS plugins (A5, DGGRID, and DGGAL) render and identify cells over the current view, plus DGGS Generator, Binning, and Compact processing tools. - Hyperspectral data you can actually read: local NetCDF and HDF grids are colormapped in the browser, a cube gets an RGB band combination picked by wavelength. - Spectral profiles from a click: identify a pixel to chart its spectrum against wavelength. - Smart styling on add: every new layer arrives with its own color and geometry-appropriate sizing, and a Style suggestions strip offers one-click renderers. - Autosave, crash recovery, and project history, plus an Elements panel for managing every annotation from a list, a Layer Library for saving a fully configured layer and re-adding it to any later project, and project duplication and templates. - GeoLibre Desktop is on the Mac App Store, and Thai brings the shipped locales to 16 languages besides English, all at 100% coverage. Try it out - Launch GeoLibre Web: - GitHub: - Documentation: - Release notes: #GIS #Geospatial #OpenSource #RemoteSensing #DataVisualization #MapLibre #GeoLibre

This is what flying through a hailstorm looks like from an Airbus A320 cabin over Paraguay in an absolute emergency. There are five ways pilots can tackle a thunderstorm while airborne: 1. Fly around 2. Fly over 3. Divert 4. Fly under 5. Fly through In that order. Flying under and flying through are both dangerous options, although flying under can be slightly safer depending on the storm. Jet engines are actually tested and certified for hailstone ingestion. The rest of the aircraft, maybe not. On weather radar, color codes are used to represent different intensities of precipitation and weather conditions: Green: Light precipitation, such as drizzle or light rain. Yellow: Moderate precipitation, indicating heavier rain or snow. Red: Heavy precipitation, such as thunderstorms or intense rain. Magenta: Extreme precipitation, often associated with severe weather, hail, or severe turbulence. 📹: Omegasix

1/ 👋🏼 Quick update on what we’ve been working on: Since leaving Google in December, we built a bunch of prototypes to explore different directions but in the last 30 days we spent more time with one focused idea and went deeper to take it to a fully working state. As a PM in meetings for most of my day, I was always switching between tabs—jumping from one app to another to get insights about my customers, the business, and what the team should be prioritizing. We wanted to simplify this flow and cut down the time spent digging through different sources to make decisions. What if you could flatten all those sources and tools into one tab? What if you could just talk to your business? Connect your business data from Salesforce, Zendesk, Slack, etc. and get insights in minutes—not hours—fully cited, with transparent agent reasoning across all sources. ▶️ See exactly how the system derives its answer (ex. the Salesforce SOQL query + custom Zendesk filters) ▶️ Multi-pass agentic flow: determines which source/s to use, takes a broad query, applies heuristics to refine, unifies data across different sources, and improves with user feedback ▶️ Reports automate what you want to track (I would’ve killed for a daily Discord report on what the NotebookLM community was saying)

Let's be honest: sending crypto is tricky. The interfaces can be confusing, and there's always some anxiety about entering the correct address and amount and making sure everything is accurate. Plus, there's the hassle of managing transaction fees. Someone had to put a stop to that, and we did. With this Tangem app update, you can: — Use a simple and smooth interface to send funds. — Select addresses from recent transactions or your own wallets — see all your addresses even if you have multiple wallets. — Enter amounts in the sending currency or fiat for your convenience. — Manually adjust transaction fees for greater flexibility. — Benefit from a clear confirmation screen to avoid mistakes. Enjoy the new and improved Tangem app now, available on the App Store and Google Play. 🖤

Today we are launching Autopilot 4.0, a new generation of Autopilot that acts as a sleep agent. Autopilot 4.0 uses data from your day and night to predict how you’re likely to sleep, automatically adjust your sleep environment through the Pod, and explain what happened by morning in plain language. This is the next step in what makes Eight Sleep different. We do not just surface data or generate sleep insights. We use that data to actively respond through the sleep environment itself. Members can connect Apple Health or Health Connect, or tag events directly in the app, giving the sleep agent more context from workouts, activity, stress, alcohol, meals, and other daily inputs. That context helps it predict what may happen during the night and make the right adjustments before and throughout sleep. Autopilot 4.0 is built on more than one billion hours of sleep data and is now available in the Eight Sleep app.
