Tex Avery was trending on twitter earlier. While it was mostly people talking about that god awful DIC show, I want to take advantage of it and say how great his actual cartoons are and how much he really impact animation history. Northwest Hounded Police is a particular favorite

Bad Luck Blackie is personally my favorite cartoon and film PERIOD. The gags and timing of said gags were perfected to a tee and make me crack up every time I watch it.

His stuff at Walter Lantz is also extremely underappreciated. Legend of Rock-A-Bye Point is also one of my favorites and is a great example of Tex's timing. It's so good I once showed this to @NCLuke1024 and he was straight up laughing for over 45 minutes after it was over.

Another reason why Tex Avery was a genius was how he had the gall to mess with the audience. A particular gag in Magical Maestro had a hair string pop on screen only for Spike to pull it out himself. MGM even had to issue a note with the cartoon stating the hair wasn't real.

NHP will always be for me my favorite Tex Avery Cartoon and the best one he did because of the sheer hilarity and insanity and over exaggeration. This is the best and wildest take ever! for me!

My favorite element of this cartoon is how OVER THE TOP the Wolf's screams get. I love when he splits up and his yell is choppy. That's genius comedy. As a kid, I'd recreate these scenes.

"The 'out of hand' that to me is disgusting, how people try to use that opportunity to either show how they really felt about Drake the whole time, or just like pile on and tear this dude down and create a narrative as if he's not great. Kevin Costner said he didn’t want to speak publicly after Whitney Houston died because he felt their relationship was “just a movie.” Kevin Costner: What happened was, it was a thing I didn't want to do. When Whitney passed, the microphone was going around for a, for a week, that everybody getting on TV talking about her. And I'm thinking, "Jesus, the last thing I want to do is get on a radio and talk about her." Uh, after all, it was just a movie really. And, but there was this weird thing that I didn't take into consideration. I think sometimes, maybe you and I can miss what the real momentum is, that we don't really gauge it because we either intellectually dismiss it or we just don't care, but people wanted to hear what I had to say about her, which baffled me. The thing he wants to show is more of a performance in a way, his playboy energy. Connor is more adjacent to Ilya's soft and endearing, sensitive side that he didn't have to play that. He zhongxing was talking about geonwoo's self-discipline on another level during the b2p filming 🥹🤍 💬 He’s extremely self-disciplined. I think he really is. I can tell you guys about it. Back when we were filming it was summer. You know when it comes to how he treats himself…how should I put it his self-requirements, the standards he sets for himself… how do I explain this? There was this one thing that really honestly, even I felt it. I thought, wow, he’s really incredible. We were filming in the middle of summer, you know? It was during summer vacation super hot. Really, really hot. And how disciplined was he? He was so disciplined that, in order to protect his voice, in weather that hot, he wore a scarf. You know? And he drank hot water out of a thermos. I really thought, wow this guy is so cool! Drinking from a thermos, wearing a scarf you know? That scene was just… do you understand the kind of shock I felt seeing that at the time? Everyone else was wearing T-shirts, and we were practicing dancing, completely soaked in sweat. And there he was wearing a scarf.
