Flipper w/ inside shoulder, keep play side arm free, eyes up. - "The biggest reason we have the board is so we don't crossover on the front side of inside zone. Anytime you crossover front side on inside zone you get split." Down & Reach - Work down and reach blocks simultaneously & finish with great effort - Down block = step foot to crotch, hat to the V of the neck, strong with my outside hand. It forces them to choose a single way to play us when we release the DE. - The ways in which DE's will play us (outside of normal reads are: 1. Wrong Arm 2. Squeeze and Chase 3. Play for Width 4. Mesh Charge - We want to be able to run any play at any time. - We can create the same mesh point on downhill runs without sacrificing our ability to run perimeter schemes. - Better position to get good play action and involve the RB in the pass game. - The last thing that prompted our move to being a sidecar team was to fit the skill set of our QB. He was more equipped to be a downhill power runner in the vein of Cam Newton rather than a shifty option QB. - Since the change we have developed one of the most effective QB run packages in the country.
