🔊 Gold from Ravens OC Todd Monken: “Good offensive football is: 1. Don’t turn it over. 2. Be Explosive. 3. Score touchdowns in the Red Zone. 4. Be good on 3rd Down. 5. Don’t have lost yardage plays. 6. Have an athletic QB who can make off-schedule plays. There are a lot of ways to skin a cat, but the principles of how you win are the same.”

Jeff Teague on Stephen A. Smith comments about how the Lakers going to win with your 3 best players being white: “You wildin’, n****s would have been tight if they would have been like how are you going to win in soccer with 5 black guys on the field, n****s would have been tight. How are you going to win with a black quarterback? It would have went crazy.” (Via Club520podcast)

Nick Saban - Hiring Coaches & Program Culture/Standards Hiring Coaches - Character - Communication - Knowledge - Developing Relationships Program Culture/Standards - "You have to define the culture/standards for the players. So they know exactly what you expect from them." - "When they don't do those things, no matter what they are, you have to confront them. You have to show them that these behaviors that you're defining for them are actually going to help them accomplish the goals that they have." - "I think it's very important that you sit down players and know what their goals are. Everyone needs to have goals and a vision for what they want to do. They have to understand what they have to do to do it and they have to be willing to do those things. But they also have to edit their behavior to be able to do those things and they have to have enough discipline to execute it every day."

"There are two types of coaches, those who do nothing and those who do a lot of damage. I prefer to be one of those who do nothing. The game belongs to the players, always ⚽. You can introduce them to a certain strategy that we have to implement, and they have to be convinced that they can do it. Then, there is the quality of the player, there is the attitude, the commitment. What a coach can do is make the players understand what teamwork is 🤝. Because we have the quality, Bayern Munich has it, Paris Saint Germain has it. Where is the difference? Where do you want to put this quality? If you want to put it in for yourself, it's not right ❌. If you put it in for the team, you can win 🏆."

A WIN CHANGES EVERYTHING TONIGHT!! The Lakers have the opportunity to steal back home court and tie up the series heading back to LA 2-2. If we win, we’ll have the Wolves RIGHT where we want them, but we know it won’t be easy. LOCK IN!!!!! 😈

Mike D'Antoni's advice to aspiring NBA head coaches was surprisingly simple. "You have to have the bond between the coaches and you have to invest time in that." The culture your players experience is often a reflection of the culture your staff experiences. If your coaches don't trust one another...If they don't enjoy being around one another...If they aren't connected... Don't expect your players to magically create what the staff hasn't modeled. Culture doesn't start in the player's locker room. It starts in the coaches' room. 📹: Win More, Live Better Podcast (Ep. 265)

When your best two players are your 4 and 5, you gotta find ways to put them situations where they don’t have to deal with a lot of help defense. Carolina Basketball does that in a number of ways. I talked about it on the ACC Network. Need to be effective to win at home vs Duke

Change the playoff format, get in as the 4 seed, it doesn’t matter the Bandits still find a way to win. at one point they were 5-6 and 7-7 this year and they go on to have a perfect postseason to win back-to-back titles 🏆 What a special group 🥍

Sen. Gary Peters: You, sir, are the failure, not the men and women who are on that front line who hold up their honor with distinction. Their leaders have failed them. You don't have a strategy. You don't have a long-term plan to actually win this war. Hegseth: You have Trump derangement syndrome and can't actually commit to anything meaningful

Brandon Nimmo on facing teams ahead of them in the Wild Card race: "In baseball, you're not going to win every single game. We have to focus on the big picture. We're playing [Arizona] who's won 6 in a row against teams that are trying to make the playoffs. We handled them last night. Then tonight we put ourselves in a position to win until the 8th inning. Tell me where that's bad baseball. Sometimes, other teams are just going to do more. That's what I mean by controlling what you can control - sometimes you're going to lose. Sometimes you're going to get knocked on your ass and you gotta get back up. And that's what you can control. We're coming tomorrow, we're going to try and win. We're not blaming it on one guy, two guys, one play - sometimes the other guy wins"

Texas A&M HC Mike Elko - Prioritizing 3rd & Medium (3rd 4-6) - "We overdo the one that is balanced, because that is the one we have to win to be great." - Man coverage is their primary call (deny the ball/eliminate horizontal stretch). Zone coverage as the change up to move the stress vs man beaters. - "Those are the things you have to spend all your time on in practice, how are we handling the hard ones (Stack/Bunch - Man Beaters)."

Ferris State HC Tony Annese - Offensive Philosophy - Have a system built to attack every defense. 4-2-5, 4-3, 3-4, 3-3 Stack, etc. Have a built-in game plan to attack every defensive system. - Adaptability and flexibility is essential to have a good offense. Do not always let down and distance own you. - Win first down and you will win the game. Stay ahead of the chains. - Stay a step ahead of the opponents' defensive game plan. Play selection & the construction of the system is based on "take what the defense gives us". That means develop a system that identifies & attacks the vulnerabilities of a given defense. Have contingencies in the arsenal to take advantage of all situations a defense presents. - Always have the option to run THE OPTION. Have the ability to read a multitude of players taking advantage of option principles.

Giving some extended thoughts on my take that Florida State is the most overrated team in the ACC. Yes, I’m aware no one is projecting them to win the conference or compete for it. They are projected to win 6-7 games and I think this is a 4 win team with 2 gimmes on the schedule
