glhf:

Shared this with my class and personal network this weekend. Been having a blast with it and super impressed! I would LOVE to be able to easily annotate this when working on the ipad so I can sketch and make notes directly instead of trying to describe what I'm thinking.

glad you noticed / liked those features, i basically only use the topology selection and drawing tools to pass feedback to agents

This has helped me fit these tools into my normal workflow so much easier instead of changing my stubborn 40 years of behavior. Now I can sit down and sketch on paper or my ipad, send it to codex to get started, share detailed measurements with a caliper in hand, and watch it continue to build. Next step for me is to build out an easy visualizer for AR viewing as well as my Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest headsets.

One trick worth adding to the prompt: have it put every dimension in named parameters up top, like phone width, wall thickness, and a clearance value. When the first print comes out 0.3mm too tight, you change one number instead of re-prompting the whole model.

love to see it grow

Kindly check DM Jake

Awesome stuff

Does the plugin give Codex an editable parametric model back, or just a mesh? "Make the slot 2mm wider without changing anything else" is the follow-up I'd want to try.

The dangerous part is being able to design the next thing before the printer has finished the first one.

one of my favorite tools these days, not joking

trying it now

very fukn cool

Text-to-CAD is making practical 3D design remarkably accessible

In Sane

Landing in the Codex plugin directory changes the distribution: CAD becomes a tool an agent calls mid-task, not an app you open. Curious about fit: does it reason about print clearance (~0.2-0.4 mm on FDM), or do you tune that after the first print?

This is the way. Codex + cad is the future. Now fea analysis !!!

@mxstbr how long to get approved? been waiting a few days
