In short, the Lightning Network, which powers wallets like Phoenix, can theoretically handle a massive number of global transactions due to its off-chain scaling. It processes payments instantly and cheaply by settling batches on Bitcoin’s main chain, so it’s not limited by Bitcoin’s 21 million cap or block size. Current estimates suggest Lightning could handle millions of transactions per second, far exceeding global financial systems like Visa (tens of thousands per second). As for hodling, people are betting on price growth now, but long-term, Bitcoin’s price could stabilize as it matures. Even if some hodl, there are enough satoshis (1 BTC = 100 million satoshis) to facilitate global trade, especially with Lightning’s efficiency. People will always buy, sell, and invest, keeping liquidity alive.
