There’s no going back. The damage is irreversible. Whatever trust or credibility the US once had is gone, and no future action can fully undo it. The US has shown it can’t reliably prevent extremists from taking power. The problem isn’t just bad actors - it’s systemic failure.

Please understand for the US to be an ally again, everyone in this regime must be held to account, justices/judges impeached, laws changed (possibly the constitution) to prevent gerrymandering and Citizen’s United, and independent enforcement. Or this can all happen again.
