🚨 THAT 12FT ROCKET ISN'T A TOY - IT'S M-CLASS He's loading a reloadable solid motor, that red casing pushes 1000s of Newtons. 🚀 Onboard cam + dual parachute recovery = same tech real space companies test. 🪂

Just like the Estes that I played with as a kid, only a whole lot bigger. Lots of fun.

They could add another ring with them that has a delayed firing timing, so that it kicks in before the first are empty.

He looks like he’s being really careful. Except he’s not wearing proper clothing and shoes. If he’s not wearing all cotton and shoe that are self grounding, then he could be building up a static electric charge that can initiate the fuse or possibly the propellant.

fun fact, the smoke trail is wasted energy. Develop a plumeless propellant and get an endless supply of money with multiple billions of dollars from the pentagon.

(about Concerto) 🔮: i'm so proud and happy that 🎭 was there. it's no secret at all that he's very hard working and that he does a lot behind the scenes and a lot of practice. 🔮: and that he's one of the most hardworking people that any of us have ever known but i don't know if you guys realize there's a lot that you don't see. 🔮: it's just really incredible, he is a true testament to seeing somebody reap what they've sown and harvesting all of the plants and fruit and crops that they have sown and planted over months and months and years of hard work and dedication. 🔮: this is just the epitome of everything, it's a combination of everything that he has worked for and done over these years. everything that he has said about how he felt. all of his feelings, thoughts and struggles and everything that he has shared already with everyone and with you guys. 🔮: it's all so real and authentic so i'm really happy and glad to see that he is getting his flowers. he's getting lots of flowers, he's getting his bouquets finally. i as his genmate, as a part of Noctyx, i can only hope to get to that same level. 🔮: it's so inspiring, isn't it? even when i have moments where i feel like i wanna give up or maybe i shouldn't work as hard, it's people like him that really give you that motivation and inspiration to keep going because everything that you do and work for will be worth it in the end. 🔮: i'm gonna make sure on my end that i can catch up to these two. i have a lot of catching up to do, don't i? 🥹🥹🥹💜🧡

Ethan Thornton on manufacturing solid rocket motors: "It's very challenging because you're manufacturing millions of pounds of explosives. Essentially, that's what solid rocket motors are… By the time you light them, you don't really have any control. We basically just light it, and it either works or it doesn't. And when it doesn't work, it is usually quite kinetic. One of the things that's hard is you're getting all this precursor shipped to you. At scale, millions to tens of millions of pounds of explosives. So right now we're retrofitting about 200 bunkers that we're renting out to be able to store this stuff. The way we got here, we actually acquired a company called Exquadrum. I generally hate doing acquisitions. In this specific case, just the licensing to do this sort of stuff would have taken five years. Jet engines are plumbing, solid rocket motors are baking. You mix this dough. You pour it into the casing. It's a very specific arduous arts and craftsy process. One of the big things is how do you get every human out of the loop that you possibly can. We're aiming to be able to do hundreds of thousands a year in the coming two years or so. The single biggest rate limiting factor on production of systems like this will be warheads, and it will be solid rocket motors. Right now all the precursor for a lot of this stuff is made at one facility in the U.S. that's bought out like three years. So this isn't a build thing. This is a supply chain effort."
