There was a shitty reason for that. The band was started by a guy named Scott Bradlee. He was a talented arranger but he didn't like to tour. So he hired pianists to tour for him. He still billed himself for the shows and ppl were always pissed that I wasn't him. I have stories.

I always thought Sara was the most talented singer they had on — or at least — had the best voice to my ear. The tap dancer, the tambourine guy, all of the side acts I could do without ever having seen. Never really cared for that kind of *extra* stuff.
