My evangelical pastor parents put me on the free lunch program. Not because they didn’t have the money, but because they’re professional grifters. Then my stepdad would get up in the pulpit and preach about the pitfalls of socialism.

And that is why I stopped going to church. I believe in God, just don’t believe in church. They act better than others. They don’t help anyone unless they taking credit. And they judge, judge and judge. It’s Gods place to judge not theirs, that’s in the Bible also. 🙄

What a great young man & father. It is disheartening that his view is deemed as radical by those who profess to follow Jesus. Why do so many Christians have no idea of the teachings of Jesus but go to a church every Sunday?

If your dad was really that generous, why wasn't he already buying free lunches for all those kids? There is nothing wrong with individuals choosing to be generous. Go do it. No one will stop you. The problem is when you want to be generous with other people's money.

it's NOT radical to want our society to be KINDER, more CARING, to take care of EVERYONE in our society, to want CHILDREN in schools to have access to a FREE LUNCH regardless of financial situation.

Dems will feed 10 people, knowing they maybe 2 of them don't really need or deserve it. R's will withhold food from 10 people just to be sure those 2 don't get what they don't need, not caring about the other 8.

This young man & his strong, principled dad are 100% good souls. He is a bloody legend for standing up to fake Christians. I want to follow his career trajectory through life because he should be in politics. Young people need this passion & to stand up for people who struggle👊

Stigma keeps qualified kids from eating the free lunch. I skipped lunch every day so my classmates wouldn’t know we were poor. Thanks for the eating disorder, judgy Christians!
