She can buy whatever she wants. Just on her own dime. SNAP and welfare need to be uncomfortable. There needs to be motivation to get off government programs.

SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Sodas, energy drinks, candy, deserts, etc. don't sound like they qualify to me, as well they are luxury items. If people want luxury items, this is an incentive to go work and achieve that.

Yeah, because when you get diabetes from all of the sugar you want to buy with someone else's money, the taxpayers also have to pay for your healthcare via Medicaid.

She can still get soda and candy, she just has to buy it like the rest of us....

SNAP gets you what you need, not what you want. If you want that, you NEED a better job. If she has a job at all… there are likely millions of unskilled, unemployable people who think they are owed. Would they work for free? No. Taxpayers don’t work to fund you. Go to charity for that.

We shouldn't fund obesity, then fund healthcare.

Did you know- most don't. Every parent for reasons I don't understand gets an EBT card as a kickback for sending a child to school in Florida. Its gone on forever. It's a few hundred bucks! They say it's like a tax rebate - okay. We pay a crap load of taxes. We spent ours on 30yr #10 cans of rice, wheat, powdered milk, beans, etc. after 8 yrs of this we have so far an 18 month supply.

It's junk food and we are paying for it. Food stamps should only be good for rice, ww flour, rolled oats, bananas, and canned beans. Cheap but nourishing food. $100 a month per adult.

They should get only meat, vegetables, fruit, and advance notice that all forms of welfare will be abolished in 5 years.

She isn't banned. She can pay for those items herself.

I got a wild idea for her. Get a job and buy your own damn sugary drinks. I (taxpayer) shouldn’t be funding your unhealthy lifestyle which is also going to cost me even more through medical bills.

It was meant to SUPPLEMENT your income and amt of nutrients in your body NOT be the ONLY source~ IF you want Ice Cream & Junk food laced w/chemicals & toxic dyes you need to buy those with your OWN money, same goes for the hair/wigs and $300/nails!

All those foods impact health and likely intelligence so in addition to costing the taxpayers upfront for the snacks, the longer term costs multiply exponentially.

Strange. Me either but I am guessing that is because I was paying so much in taxes so she could have them. Sadly this will probably not reduce the amounts collected and distributed since the government is a giant extortion and or embezzlement ring.

Sugar is a near impossible addiction to break. So many black people get diabetes, the kind where they have amputations.
