The 13th Warrior (1999) has its problems and clear studio interference, but it’s still a genuinely fun adventure, Antonio Banderas learning to fight alongside Vikings, strong atmosphere, John McTiernan keeping the action tight, unfairly dismissed.

It’s still my favorite “learning a language” scene.

100%! Every word. Been watching it for years and enjoy it everytime! Great character chemistry, and storytelling. Wish Omar Sharif had a bigger role!

It’s one of those rare movies I wish would have been longer and stretched the third act out more. However, I’ve probably seen it twenty times and I’m confident I will watch it twenty more.

❤️

I wish they stuck to the book and made it about a lost remnant tribe of Neanderthals instead of magical monster beings.

It is the only movie I ever left the theatre for. I hated it. Don't know why. Because for me it should have worked. I loved the director, the lead, the idea, the genre. But I walked out and I've never done that before or since.

"Has its problems" There is NOTHING wrong with the 13th Warrior. Nothing at all

It is the greatest movie ever made

My only complaints, 1) it's tough to keep track which party members die at points and 2) the one prince just disappears.

I think it's a bloody marvellous film

The movies last line is great: “[God’s] blessing be upon pagan men who loved other gods… and shed their blood, that his servant, Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan, might become a man…” Society and movies once recognized that cultures could learn from and respect each other without agreeing.

Dude love this movie. Lo there do I see my Father.. 🤘🏽

I like this movie, but imagine how awesome it would have been if McTiernan had a Predator show up.

Based on the historical Ahmad ibn Fadlan, a 10th c Arab diplomat who took up with the Vikings to sail up the Volga!!

The 13th Warrior (1999) is a fine piece of work. Great acting. Story based on the book by Michael Crichton. Multi- cultural.

Great movie. Unappreciated

Agree 100%

How are you seeing this different

The screenwriter is a good friend. He told me the movie is not what he wrote. It was badly chopped to fit into a predetermined running time.

Ugh, that Goldsmith score hits sooooooo hard. So, so, so good

Great movie. Watch it enough and sure there's a few holes. But the story overall is fun

I saw it in the theatre, the only thing I remember is not liking it.

I'm all for it.

Because I LISTENED! The dog can jump. The challenges within challenges motif was so well done.

Not forgetting "The Verm".

We need 4k version for sure.

It's a great movie.

Really enjoy that movie!
