The 2nd amendment would prevent this.

If a coyote doesn’t run when it sees you, kill it. If it runs away, leave it be. It will raise its young to be afraid of humans, and will defend its territory against other coyotes in the area, which might not be afraid of humans.

These coyotes are like Muslims moving into a state. I think I'd rather have the coyotes.

@SaraJane101 Hell, a pellet gun works great, and no clean up.

That’s what you get from living in an anti-gun communist state

The government doesn't care if wild life attacks your toddler, they are more concerned about the wildlife living its best life.

This is mostly why rural people have guns. It’s to protect your home and livestock. It’s the only reason I’ve ever had to shoot.

No, that is ignorantly untrue. In reality, safely exercising the 2nd Amendment COULD have ENDED the incident if prepared; however, to lose track of one’s toddler is inexcusable - without exception - especially when coyotes are a known risk.

This is why we have open season on them in VA. They are not your friends they steal your small pets too!

This is why I hate seeing cute videos of people "rescuing" wild animals!

The second amendment protects us from this in the great state of Alabama

It’s common thing that happens when you keep building and tearing woods down taking their habitat away from them. Naples, Florida people whining and complain about the bears the Panthers and the bobcats. But yet they build their lavish homes right on protected land.

That’s terrifying. Around here you can shoot coyotes because they attack the cows, horses and sheep. They pay $50 a coyote. There definitely is no shortage of coyotes.

Buy a gun and shoot them dumbass. Really? Children have to get dragged away before you figure this out? Are there any men in your neighborhood?

Poor little dog. The owner left it to fend for himself while she ran away. 😳

Keep a pellet rifle handy. It's a great deterrent without the loud noise.

I thought America had more guns than people? Who knew? Animal control will never catch a coyote.

We create a buffet of opportunity for predators within our cities. Tons of fresh garbage daily, plenty of cute furry little pets and thousands of bird feeders for those who prefer fowl. When I worked nights with the SO we'd see a wide variety of critters folks didn't even know were in the area. I've seen Mountain lions, Bobcats, Coyotes, Javalina's and Feral Hog's all within the city limit's. Midland TX just had a bear running around in town. Might add that deer love a nice yard and tasty bushes and Mountain lions love deer. We create our own problems in most cases, deer feeders are a great example. Those things will sit there and spin out corn twice a day every day. They attract deer, quail and turkey. They also attract those who eat deer, quail and turkey. If somebody said there was a million feeders operating in TX that wouldn't surprise me. On the place south of town I have 12 feeding areas, I don't use feeders but I do put down corn. I'll put down 50 pounds every 3 days per feeding area starting in August and bump it up to every two days starting in October. That won't stop until February. Imagine that or something similar going on all over TX. We throw a huge food source into the environment. Cities do the same thing but on a much larger scale.

Idk, little girl might be able to shoot a .22 but would that stop a coyote?
