It’s made up. The term brain death was invented to justify organ harvesting. Brain death is not a physiological reality—they have never observed a brain truly “dead” while the body remains alive. How could they even distinguish it? When transplant technology became available, organs were sometimes taken from living donors and the first organ removed was from an infant.
