That's just "cooling." Air "conditioning" means removing humidity as well, and it's pretty dumb to talk about it without mentioning that.

It also works backwards.

An air conditioner removes heat from indoor air using a refrigerant cycle: absorbing heat inside, releasing it outside, circulating cooled air back indoors while controlling humidity and temperature.

Freon or R134a is a brand name and a specific type of refrigerant and not what they use in almost all A/C units. Cars really are the only A/C units it is used in.

That's not air conditioning, that's cooling. Air conditioning controls the condition of the air - and that includes the humidity. When air is cooled, water is squeezed out as condensate, water is added by humidifier & a heater will give you the condition you need

Or you could just buy and install an air conditioner 🤷🏾‍♂️

The refrigerant has done more laps than you'd think: ammonia (toxic), CFCs (ozone killers), HFCs (greenhouse gases), and now hydrofluoroolefins. Each generation solved one problem while creating another. The principle stays the same, but the chemistry keeps evolving.

Simple idea, powerful result. The AC doesn’t create coldit removes heat and pushes it outside. This video makes the science behind everyday comfort so easy to understand
