I am the only one who warned this would happen at the beginning of the year! All these extreme plane crashes are not a coincidence. Unfortunately, the number of deaths from plane crashes is only going to rise from here. There is a reason so much of the information about these crashes is either hidden or delayed. They are attempting to avoid a widespread public panic. The total number of “accidents” is misleading. Look at the number of deaths/extreme incidents already this year! Bookmark this tweet, because I can tell you that we are about to see a lot of high-profile boat crashes next. Once I have the full story put together, I will reveal all of the information in a report and call out many specific names. That puts my life at risk, but it has to be done! As our schools reopen for the new term, I urge every Kenyan to join hands in ensuring the safety of our children on the roads. With thousands of students returning to school across the country, our roads will experience a surge in traffic. To motorists: -Slow down and be alert when approaching school zones and pedestrian crossings; children may be walking and crossing unexpectedly. -Obey speed limits, traffic signs, and signals at all times. -Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy; brakes, lights, tyres, and mirrors must be in good condition. -Do not overload vehicles carrying children. To parents and guardians: -Choose safe and compliant transport for your children. -Teach children the basics of road safety; looking both ways before crossing and using designated crossings. The safety of our children is everyone’s responsibility. Let us uphold our traffic laws, be mindful of one another, and ensure that every learner arrives safely at school and returns home at the end of the day. Report reckless behaviour to the authorities NTSA KENYA, and National Police Service-Kenya, your vigilance can save lives. Traffic lights failed at a busy Junction near Chicago, USA. The cops put up Stop 🛑 signs and left. All drivers stop at stop line and proceed alternatively, in the order they arrived at the junction. Even if there is confusion like at minute 1.15 people cooperate rather than dominate, This is only possible because of strong Driver Education and self discipline. Note: there is not a single cop at the junction. By following the rule, hundreds of vehicles are passing through the junction without honking and without accident. In India, everybody wants to go first so we will gridlock the junction and get stuck for hours. Everyone loses! Believe me, Driver Education is the way forward to improve the chaotic traffic situation in India. (Along with strong Enforcement). #RoadSafety

There are some very good technocrats in most Government ministries. They are there quietly doing their work, away from the limelight, away from the noise, just getting on with it. I don’t know who this lady is and had never heard of her before, but she certainly caught my attention with her detailed presentation on the planned improvements to Harare’s road infrastructure. She is clear, informed and confident. Harare Drive may finally get its “missing link” completed, although to be fair we first heard that back in February 2016 😅 There are also plans for the dualisation of Churchill Road, hopefully all the way through Gunhill and onto Enterprise Road, which from this presentation appears set to be dualised right up to the Shamva turnoff. I also learnt that the chaotic St Patrick’s/Airport Road crossing in Hatfield is earmarked for major improvement, with St Patrick’s Road set to fly over Airport Road. That junction can back traffic all the way to the SPCA roundabout during peak hours. Dieppe Road, from the Post Office Sorting Office to Coca-Cola Corner, badly needs attention too. Same applies to the stretch from the Sorting Office roundabout past Cranborne up to Churu Farm Flats in Rhodesville. That road needed dualisation about 40 years ago. Its a pain in the ass. This is why I have always believed many civil servants genuinely want to do their jobs professionally. It is often the political appointees who slow progress, frustrate implementation and drag capable people backwards. Anyway, we thank the flowering tree when we finally eat and enjoy its fruit. I also learnt that the chaotic St Patrick’s/Airport Road crossing in Hatfield is earmarked for major improvement, with St Patrick’s Road set to fly over Airport Road. That junction can back traffic all the way to the SPCA roundabout during peak hours. Dieppe Road, from the Post Office Sorting Office to Coca-Cola Corner, badly needs attention too. Same applies to the stretch from the Sorting Office roundabout past Cranborne up to Churu Farm Flats in Rhodesville. That road needed dualisation about 40 years ago. Its a pain in the ass. This is why I have always believed many civil servants genuinely want to do their jobs professionally. It is often the political appointees who slow progress, frustrate implementation and drag capable people backwards. Anyway, we thank the flowering tree when we finally eat and enjoy its fruit. Instructed all cameras be kept fully functional at all times. We need about 1,000 interceptors a day, and we can supply at least another 1,000 a day to our allies. Bengaluru is being strangled by a corrupt government that refuses to govern. The traffic crisis is worsening by the day, and the core reason is staring us in the face: the explosion of private vehicles. But instead of addressing this, the state government is fuelling it. Instead of building mass public transport, it has launched a war against it. At a time when every rupee of public money should be invested in making public transport more available, more affordable and more reliable, this government has done the opposite. It is punishing those who rely on public transport and actively incentivising more car and two-wheeler ownership. The state wants to spend ₹1 lakh crore to build 100 kilometres of new flyovers and 18 kilometres of tunnel roads - a gift wrapped package for the politician-contractor lobby. But here’s the punchline: more than 20 flyovers have been pending for close to eight years, lying incomplete across the city. Before even completing what it has already failed, the government wants to throw billions more at the same failure. This isn’t infrastructure building. This is an addiction to kickback-paying contracts. The ₹18,000 crore tunnel road is the peak of this madness — a vanity project that benefits only private cars while being a death sentence for the city’s public transport system. It will not serve the pedestrian, the cyclist, the commuter - it will serve only the cars, the SUVs. It won’t serve the common guy who uses the BMTC or the metro. While the government wants to build more roads, it is killing last mile connectivity. Carpooling, bike-sharing, and auto-sharing remain unsupported. It refuses to allow private players to run buses alongside BMTC, despite the overwhelming demand. Metro fares are being hiked unscientifically, pushing people away from mass transit instead of into it. Meanwhile, ridership in Metro is weakening. And the result? The roads are flooded with cars. A recent study by Bengaluru Traffic Police on Outer Ring Road found a 20% increase in vehicle numbers in just one year, resulting in a 125% increase in congestion. This is not sustainable. This will lead to a total collapse of the city. Every delay in Metro completion brings more cars onto the streets. Every step taken to weaken the bus system brings more two-wheelers into the chaos. Bengaluru already has more private vehicles than people. No other global city in our population bracket has done this because no other city has such a suicidal mobility policy. Let’s be clear: this government’s mobility policy is not citizen-centric. It is contractor-centric. It is not about moving people - it is about moving cars. This is a government in the grip of a politician-bureaucrat-contractor nexus, that would rather pour concrete than build a city that works. And who is paying the price? The nurse who takes the bus. The student who walks to the Metro. The delivery rider stuck in traffic. The poor and middle class of Bengaluru, who don’t own cars, but are cross-subsidising roads that are built exclusively for car owners. This is not just poor governance. It is structural injustice. This assault on Bengaluru must stop. Every rupee of public money must be redirected to public transport. That is the only globally proven solution to decongestion and cities with denser populations than ours have done it. What’s missing here is not technology or funds. What’s missing is political will. And that will won’t come from those in power. It must come from the people of Bengaluru. From those who are stuck in traffic and fed up of being lied to. It is deeply concerning to see so many pedestrians choosing to cross busy roads at unsafe points instead of using the footbridges provided for their safety. This risky behavior continues to result in avoidable accidents, injuries, and even loss of life. Today along Mombasa Road, I witnessed several people ignoring a nearby footbridge and opting for a dangerous shortcut across the highway. While it may seem faster or more convenient in the moment, the consequences can be devastating. Footbridges are constructed specifically to protect lives, and using them should not be optional but a shared responsibility. We shall deploy our officers to arrest anyone who is found in violation of the law, especially those who avoid using the flyovers and instead opt to risk their lives by competing with vehicles an act that often leads to unnecessary accidents and loss of lives. Road safety is a collective effort drivers, pedestrians, and authorities all have a role to play. There is a need for increased public awareness, stricter enforcement of traffic rules, and a mindset shift among pedestrians to prioritize safety over convenience. No shortcut is worth risking a life. Let us all choose to be more responsible and encourage others to do the same.

It is deeply concerning and unfortunate that most bodaboda riders operating within Nairobi CBD have developed the habit of riding on the wrong side of the road, putting their own lives, their passengers, and other road users at serious risk. This is the disturbing situation I personally witnessed this evening while on the ground verifying complaints about alleged harassment and illegal arrests by the county inspectorate team. From my spot checks, the reality was clear many riders are deliberately violating traffic rules. Within a short time, we recorded 348 bodabodas using the wrong side of the road. Out of these, 253 were stopped, turned away, and advised to immediately return to the correct lane, while several others fled upon noticing enforcement officers. Moving forward, enforcement will now be strict and uncompromising. Any bodaboda found breaking traffic rules especially riding on the wrong side will face immediate arrest of BOTH the rider and the passenger, and the motorbike will be impounded. Arresting the passenger is intentional because they enable this lawlessness by accepting unsafe rides. This measure will send a strong message and encourage passengers to demand compliance with traffic rules. Through shared responsibility, we can promote self-regulation, reduce accidents, restore order on our roads, and improve safety within the city. Road safety is not optional. We must all take responsibility.
