The Alawite community in 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝘀 held a 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 protesting recent assaults on Alawite neighborhoods in Homs, after members of a local tribe attacked them following the murder of a couple. Protesters condemned the incidents and urged authorities to strengthen security and protect affected communities.

🇸🇾 The Alawite coast in Syria is once again unstable. This morning, mass protests by the Alawite population erupted in the provinces of Tartus, Latakia, and Hama. The trigger was a public call by Alawite Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal, head of the Supreme Alawite Islamic Council in Syria and abroad. In a four-minute video address, he called for armed struggle in defense of federalism and the civil rights of Syria’s Alawite population. He cited as the reason for his appeal yesterday’s bombing of an Alawite shrine in Homs, carried out by the terrorist organization “Saraya Ahl al-Sunna.” Fighting is currently ongoing, with casualties reported on both sides.

Horrible scenes are unfolding - Syrian Government Forces have been deployed but they appear to be unwilling/unable to stop the violence in this neighbourhood of Homs. The attackers - predominantly from the Bani Khalid tribe are attacking Alawites and their properties randomly in response to an alleged sectarian attack on a Sunni-Arab husband and wife from the Bani Khalid tribe yesterday night - they were attacked and killed in their home and *Bani Ummaya dogs,Ya Hussein* was written with blood on their bathroom wall. The husband and wife are said to be working for the Syrian ministry of interior. It is very important to highlight that whoever murdered these 2 people yesterday night, had the intention of starting a sectarian conflict in which the Alawites would become the victims. The Syrian MoI issued a statement explicitly stating that the investigation was ongoing and that the perpetrators are unknown yet. If this was indeed a murder, perpetrated by Alawite militants - it would not seem plausible for them to left sectarian statements written in blood on the wall, the Alawite community is well aware that in every scenario, they would become the victim.

Residents Repel Bandit Attack in Sokoto, Neutralise One Assailant By: Zagazola Makama Residents of Achida community in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State have successfully repelled a bandit attack, in what has been described as a rare display of coordinated community self-defence. Security and local sources said the incident occurred when armed bandits stormed the community, but were met with stiff resistance from residents and local vigilante groups who mobilised quickly to confront the attackers. The villagers reportedly engaged the assailants directly, forcing them to retreat after a brief confrontation. The Jolani supporters have started to attack the protesting Alawite minority in large numbers; wounded Alawites have been reported and visually confirmed. The Jolani supporter crowds carry knives and other weapons, as visible in the videos. The situation is spiralling out of control - the critical phase will be at night time.

Local sources reported that the girl was kidnapped from her village of Al-Ghour Al-Gharbiyya, located in rural northern Homs,on March 14, 2026. Her father paid a ransom to secure her release. She was found on April 30, 2026, on the side of the road in extremely poor condition after suffering torture and assault. She was transferred to Homs Central Hospital, at which point General Security arrested her and moved her to Al-Waar Police Station, and then to Homs Central Prison. Following several days of public outcry on social media, the girl was released this evening.
