I’m in Sacramento today testifying in support of Senate Bill 1090, the Keep Altadena Land in Altadena Hands Act by Sen. Sasha Renée Pérez and coauthored by John Harabedian. This legislation gives Altadenans a fair chance to come home with the time needed to rebuild. Nearly 6,000 homes were destroyed in one night, and residents deserve the opportunity to rebuild their homes and lives without the worry that large-scale investors will take over.

In my own little way I’m providing some support to some affected persons, and I encourage fellow Ghanaians to lend a helping hand where you can to help someone affected by this disaster. May the good Lord comfort every grieving family, strengthen every affected community and guide us as we work together to rebuild. We will recover together.
