• The Angled sunbeam caterpillar's unique defense mechanism.. 🪅 - When physically disturbed, the caterpillar rapidly telescopes out a bouquet of hair-like filaments that spin like miniature pom-poms to startle predators. 🐛 - This active "pom-poms" defense system remains fully operational even during the caterpillar's vulnerable prepupal stage right...

🇺🇸🇮🇷 CENTCOM just requested deployment of the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile to the Middle East. This would be the first time the U.S. has ever deployed a hypersonic weapon in combat. Here's why it's being requested now specifically. Iran has spent the ceasefire relocating its ballistic missile launchers deeper into the country, beyond the reach of the Precision Strike Missile, whose range caps out around 500 kilometers. The U.S. burned through its entire PrSM inventory in the opening weeks of this war. The weapon designed to replace it hasn't been declared fully operational yet. Dark Eagle travels at Mach 5 plus, maneuvers unpredictably in the terminal phase, and has a range of over 1,700 miles. No existing Iranian air defense system can intercept it. From launch positions in the Gulf it reaches Tehran in minutes. Now here's the catch nobody is leading with. The Pentagon's own testing office says it won't have enough data to evaluate Dark Eagle's combat effectiveness until early 2027. It has repeatedly failed to launch during tests due to launcher and production quality issues. A defense official told Fox News it has reached "initial operational capability." That is the military's careful way of saying it works, sometimes, under controlled conditions. One senior fellow at the Stimson Center said plainly: "How do you know it is defense budget season in Washington? An unnecessary push to deploy a not-yet-fully-operational hypersonic missile against Iran. Nothing says fund me like first use." There are roughly 8 missiles available. Each costs $15 million. Russia and China have been fielding their own hypersonic weapons for years while the US repeatedly delayed. Deploying Dark Eagle now sends a message to Tehran, Beijing, and Moscow simultaneously. The problem is that message cuts both ways. It signals America's hypersonic era has finally arrived. It also signals that America is considering using an unproven weapon, in combat, for the first time, against a target that has spent the ceasefire hardening and dispersing precisely because it saw this coming. 🫯 A conflicting physical ontology ! One of the strangest properties in particle physics is the spin. The term spin is a historical misnomer. Electrons (𝑒⁻) do not physically rotate like a spinning top or a globe. Spin is a fundamental quantum property known as intrinsic angular momentum which exists as an inherent characteristic of the particle, much like its mass or electric charge. In quantum mechanics, electrons are treated as fundamental point-like particles with zero size, making the concept of physical 3D rotation nonsensical. A rotating electrical charge creates a magnetic field. An electron naturally possesses its own detectable magnetic field. Even though the electron isn't physically spinning, it acts exactly as if it were because of that. Moreover the spin of an 𝑒⁻ has orientation. As 𝑒⁻ carry a negative electric charge, their inherent spin turns them into tiny bar magnets. Two possible orientations exist in the natural state of the 𝑒⁻, spin up and spin down. When measured along a specific direction (called the z-axis) the 𝑒⁻ can only display one of the two orientation state, up or down. But the strangeness goes a bit further; when an 𝑒⁻ is misplaced or removed from its own orbit, it takes two full circles (720°) to return to its original quantum state. The spin isn’t motion, it’s an undeniable static, resilient force of this elementary particle, listed as one the fundamental constant of nature. 🔗

10 misstatements of facts. TEN. That’s how many material misrepresentations Hank Brennan deliberately made to the court last Tuesday when ironically trying to accuse defense counsel of doing just that. That’s no mistake. 0 motions or affidavits of factual support, signed & sworn under the pains and penalties of perjury were submitted by Hank Brennan. ZERO. It suddenly becomes much clearer why Hank Brennan ambushed the defense and the court with his dishonest attack on defense counsel. With total and complete disregard for and violation of the Rules of Criminal Procedure, and this Court’s repeated emphasis that it will not hear oral argument on matters that are not before the court in a submitted motion and affidavit (apparently her rules only apply to the defense), Hank Brennan had to launch his jury-tainting attack without any notice, and without any accountability, like an affidavit that would bind him to the factual representations he makes under the pains and penalties of perjury. In fact, I’d argue that Hank Brennan’s deliberate avoidance of any of these procedural rules was calculated and shows the premeditation of his attack. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he knew that if he’d properly filed his arguments in court documents ahead of the hearing, then the defense would’ve been prepared and able to quickly refute his lies with receipts like they did today. He knew that if he’d documented his lies in a signed and sworn affidavit, then when he was found out, it’d be much harder to claim plausible deniability. If it wasn’t already made clear to you, today certainly elucidated the fact that Hank Brennan is a snake. He’s no ethical, honest prosecutor—no. He’s Whitey Bulger’s former defense attorney and has got a weird fetish for the Feds. He’s not here for any sort of justice. #KarenReadTrial

BREAKING: The man who saw 2008 coming just placed his biggest bet against the AI boom, and the strangest name on his list is not a tech company at all. It is a bulldozer maker. Dr. Michael J. Burry shorted Nvidia, Applied Materials, Tesla, and the whole chip index this week. But the one he led with, the one he said jumped out at him, was Caterpillar, a 100-year-old maker of construction equipment. Why would the most famous bubble-caller alive make a heavy-machinery company his headline AI short? Because that is the whole tell. Caterpillar hit an all-time high this year, up 86 percent, its valuation richer than at any point in three decades. And look at the twist that makes the bet so sharp .. the re-rating is not pure fantasy. Caterpillar's order backlog is up 79 percent, because new chip factories and data centers need its generators, turbines, and earth-movers before a single server switches on. The market noticed, and repriced a machinery company as an AI stock. In Dr. Burry's words: “I have never shorted Caterpillar. It has always done great for me on the long side.” His trigger was South Korea. Burry named it directly: hundreds of billions in new chip-fab spending announced this week, the pledge that sent Caterpillar to its record. His verdict: “I see that as the beginning of the end.” Read and understand carefully what that means. Dr. Burry is not shorting artificial intelligence. Nope! He is shorting the moment the mania grew so vast it priced a maker of earth-movers like a designer of chips, betting that even real, booming orders have been valued as if they last forever. When the bubble reaches the machines that dig the holes the servers sit in, that is the line he chose to stand on. And the timing is also not quite subtle. He placed the bet at all-time highs, on the very day the chip index logged its greatest half-year run since the year 2000, the year he keeps naming. Will Burry prove himself right this time?

Innovation: Ukraine Shows a Coming Global Generational Conflict Protests have broken out in Ukraine against the firing of the young Defense Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov. He is a 35-year-old entrepreneur from the technology sector. He stayed in the job for only six months. In that short time, he modernized Ukraine’s drone warfare and carried out important reforms in the Ministry of Defense. However, he faced strong internal conflicts with the country’s top military leaders, including Commander-in-Chief Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi. This is not about bribes or corruption, problems that always exist in wars, specially at this one. The real issue is a clash between the old and the new. Ukraine’s senior officers were trained in the Soviet era. Their way of thinking is very different from that of a young tech entrepreneur. The conflict is about how to manage resources and prioritize innovation. This is not just a Ukrainian problem. We are living through a global technological revolution. Generational conflicts like this will happen in many areas, both civilian and military. In Ukraine, groups like Azov have strong influence in politics, including alliances with traditional old political factions, especially in defense, sports, and culture. This makes it even harder for a young reformer to succeed. Even so, Fedorov represents the kind of renewal that Ukrainian society wants, not just in defense, but in the whole country. That is why people are protesting in his support.

April 30 • 12:00pm ET Art Blocks + OpenSea “Gift of time” began during my residency in Marfa, Texas, as part of the Art Blocks and OpenSea artist residency program, where a distinct shift in the experience of time became central to the work. In the desert, I felt time move differently. It stretched, slowed, and became something I noticed. After a few days, the rhythm changed. Moments felt longer, attention sharpened, and I became increasingly aware of each moment as it passed. This work comes from that condition. Time is not treated only as a theme, but as a system embedded in the structure of the piece. Different ways of measuring time, such as mechanical cycles, calendars, and lunar phases, are translated into rules that continuously transform the work. The piece does not represent time. It runs on it. Its movement is tied to blockchain time. Even when unseen, it continues to rotate and evolve. When loaded, it synchronizes with the present moment, but it does not begin when it is viewed, and it does not stop when it disappears from the screen. During the residency, I spent hours thinking, sketching, and making connections. Those connections are also visible. Elastic lines, like rubber bands, link elements across the piece, representing how memories connect, how one thought leads to another, and how everything builds over time. These same connections introduce moments where the system attempts to pull itself back, as if trying to regain control. But it never fully resets. It is not a loop. The movement continues, drifting forward, never returning to a fixed state. Visually, the work reveals its own construction. Lines, paths, and rotations expose an internal logic, like looking inside a mechanism. The drawing language recalls diagrams, technical sketches, or the interior of a mechanical watch. It is a system in motion, always active. “Gift of Time” exists because I was given time by Art Blocks, OpenSea, and above all my family. It is my way of saying thank you. It is both a reflection on time and a product of it. April 30 @ 12:00pm ET on Art blocks & OpenSea 1 / 1 / 365 • 0.02 Eth Art Blocks, OpenSea
