The answer to "what does this enable?" is ReActionView v0.6, which introduces LiveView-like, fine-grained reactivity for Rails. You declare state in your view like strict locals, read it in plain Ruby, and write it from HTML attributes. Updates happen at the slot level, so only the changed values are...

Today is a big day for Herb! It's built into Rails 8.2 by default for all HTML+ERB views. My talk at #RailsWorld in Austin today answered three questions: What is Herb? What ships in Rails 8.2? And what does this enable? Herb v0.11 and ReActionView v0.6 released alongside it.

I'm really happy with the direction Herb and ReActionView are taking, but I can't do it all by myself. Please try the tools, report issues, and give feedback!

Herb has the opportunity of giving Rails apps everything JSX gave to React, without all the horrors that JSX gave to JS.

100%, I feel there is a lot of potential to fill in the gap that has been missing for the last few years.

If you contextualise a verse of Quran to a situation in your life, It opens up to you like never before. The text alone does not engage with you the way It does if read it in a context. It really feels like The Almighty is talking to you and showing the way. So, what is the next verse that I am asking here and how do you read the verse in your current situation. What does it tell you?

IMO this is all that you really needed to know/hear from today when it came to Brad's thinking He does not feel like Jaylen is worth the 35% cap hit. Plain and simple. At a lower cap hit? Sure. At 35%? Clearly the answer is no Now, whether they replace the salary slot with a different 35% caliber player or split that into pieces, is what is now TBD

Reactivity is going to be a game changer for Somnia. It will allow you to react to state a data changes fully onchain. No offchain compute needed. This will enable new strategies in DeFi, more types of prediction markets and fully onchain games. New primitives create new apps

I decided to explore HTML visuals in Power BI over the weekend with help from Claude , and the result was this interactive sales dashboard. From dynamic KPI cards to custom-styled charts and responsive layouts, HTML opens up a whole new level of design flexibility inside Power BI. It feels less like a report and more like a product. Link to PBIX file: Curious to hear your thoughts 👇 Would you use HTML visuals in your reports?

🗞️ More new email features on You now get the daily news report sent in your email (and updated hourly) I don't really like to read the news, but this is a fun way, cause it's all in plain text inside Windows 3.11 😊 Written as a Python cron robot by AI (of course) which writes directly into /Home/web/Maildir/cur, which is the location of the emails And like before you can reply to the email and it will show up in your inbox and everyone else's

Introducing Guided Reviews: the better way to review a PR A big diff is shown in file order, so you spend the first half hour jumping between files, working out what the PR does Guided Reviews does that for you - Overview shows the before vs after like a show-me. This way you understand what's changed on a high level - Files are grouped into chapters, each explained in plain words so you review one idea at a time - Only pay attention to what matters! The core change comes first. Database, tests and generated files come last

you numbered the steps so it could not get lost it does not get lost that list was written for a model that wandered, and this one plans better than the list does, so every number you added is a place where it is no longer allowed, to be smarter than you state the goal, the constraints, and how you will know it worked keep the numbers only where exactly one sequence is safe, which is deletes, auth and compliance the procedure felt like rigour it is a cage built to the dimensions of a model that is not in the room

So you are driving at night and no matter where you look, may it be in your side mirror or straight ahead, it looks like you are looking into the sun, the glare is so bad it leaves spots in your vision and it makes it hard to see where you are going. Does anyone else feel they need to change the way they make these super white and bright headlamps?

Imagine being an anxious flyer. You receive this absolutely amazing description from the Pilot on what is happening with the aircraft. Does it set your mind at ease or make it worse. For me I’d like to know what might happen before it does.

Sam Seder to Scott Galloway: So what, what you call it? It's a horror. The perpetrators of it need to be stopped and the system that exists in Israel that allows for something like this to happen, and ultimately becomes a matter of national pride. Because there's no indication that this is like a rogue government in Israel that's doing this

The American people are asking what this war has accomplished. Are we closer to a strong and strict agreement to curtail Iran's nuclear ambitions? The answer is no. Are we now dealing with Iranian leaders who are less hardline? The answer is no. Have we preserved open shipping routes that are so important for trade? The answer is no. It’s long past time for President Trump to end the war in Iran, which he should never have started in the first place.

Markdown was doomed from the start. It's just a format with low information density. HTML is better for humans, and agents can now consume and produce it without issues. But nobody wants to type HTML, so here is an alternative: This is an open-source tool for generating dashboards from data without writing a single HTML tag. You define your dashboard in YAML or TSK, and the tool will serve the HTML file for you. It comes with skills for Claude Code and Codex, so they know how to build these dashboards. And you can connect this to Postgres, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, and many other databases. Repo link below.

If for only once in your life, no matter who you are and what music you think you like, attend on full orchestra and choir concert. And take someone you love. Look at them when the music grows. You will be changed. And so will they.
