The Artist in Residence program in #NEOM has successfully concluded, marking a transformative three-month initiative that fostered artistic growth and innovation. Eight creatives, including four from Saudi Arabia, explored NEOM’s landscapes, engaged in cultural dialogue, and created site-specific art installations that reflect the intersection of heritage and future design.

As we reflect on the key milestones of recent years, we highlight one of the most significant exhibitions we've hosted: "Scripts and Calligraphy," which presented a unique cultural experience that embraced the beauty and rich history of Arabic calligraphy. Through this exhibition, held in two editions in the cities of Riyadh and Madinah, we showcased Arabic calligraphy as a timeless cultural heritage that embodies identity and history, while demonstrating how the script can transform into beautiful works of art. The Museums Commission celebrates this invaluable cultural heritage while encouraging new artistic experiments that engage with traditional calligraphy techniques and add a contemporary dimension to them.
