As we reflect on the key milestones of recent years, we highlight one of the most significant exhibitions we've hosted: "Scripts and Calligraphy," which presented a unique cultural experience that embraced the beauty and rich history of Arabic calligraphy. Through this exhibition, held in two editions in the cities of Riyadh and Madinah, we showcased Arabic calligraphy as a timeless cultural heritage that embodies identity and history, while demonstrating how the script can transform into beautiful works of art. Arrived in Ogun State ahead of the Ojude Oba Festival with a series of engagements celebrating our heritage and creative identity. My first stop was a courtesy visit to pay homage to one of Nigeria’s greatest literary and cultural icons, Professor Wole Soyinka, whose lifelong contributions continue to shape global conversations around African storytelling and artistic excellence. I also paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, the Alake of Egbaland, following the honour of my conferment with the royal title of GBASANIYI OF EGBALAND, The Cultural Ambassador of Egbaland, during the 2026 Lisabi Festival. It was important to personally pay homage to His Majesty, having missed the festival earlier in the year. Our traditional institutions remain powerful custodians of identity, history, and cultural preservation.
