A total of 115 street beggars were arrested today across various locations in the State during the ongoing enforcement operations. In addition, 26 members of the notorious ‘Omotaku’ group who were apprehended from different parts of Lagos within the last 24 hours, were arraigned before the Magistrate Court in Oshodi. They pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them and were sentenced to three (3) months’ imprisonment in accordance with the law. This action reinforces the State Government’s firm stance against activities that threaten public safety, order, and the effective use of public spaces. Enforcement efforts will continue across the State to ensure compliance with existing laws and to maintain a safe and orderly environment for all Lagosians. #ZeroToleranceLagos

Following a complaint of harassment, sales of illicit drugs and other vices by a concerned resident, Enforcement Officers from the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources conducted an enforcement operation at Baale Street off Adewuyi Street, Ijeshatedo. All the illegal structures built by the roadside were removed. Yesterday, two separate incidents involving suspected “Omotaku” touts were recorded at different locations across the State. At Marwa Bus Stop in Lekki, a truck driver whose vehicle had broken down was confronted and threatened by individuals who demanded his phone and money. Similarly, another incident occurred at Palmgrove along Ikorodu Road, where suspected touts attempted to harass road users. In both instances, operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce swiftly intervened and apprehended the suspects. They will be processed in accordance with the law. We remain committed to keeping our roads safe, protecting motorists, and eliminating all forms of harassment and intimidation across Lagos. Lagos State Environmental and Special Offenses Taskforce have commenced enforcement against banned Okada operation, one-way traffic violations, and removal of shanties erected along Lagos -Calabar coastal highway corridor. Over 50 motorcycles were confiscated for riding on the highway in violation of the Lagos State traffic law, while 10 vehicles were apprehended and charged to court for driving against traffic. This enforcement will be sustained in order to restore sanity on the road. #ZeroToleranceLagos

As part of the ongoing clean-up and enforcement operations along Coastal Road, operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce carried out a late-night raid at about 10pm yesterday, targeting identified black spots in the area. During the operation, 75 suspects were arrested, comprising 68 males and 7 females. Substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered at the scene. In the course of the exercise, one of our officers, Inspector Omosanjo Mohamed, was violently attacked by hoodlums and sustained a serious head injury. He is currently receiving medical treatment. Let me state clearly: attacks on law enforcement officers carrying out lawful duties will not be tolerated. All suspects arrested during the raid will face the full weight of the law. We remain resolute in restoring order, protecting public spaces, and ensuring that Coastal Road and other parts of Lagos are safe and secure for all law-abiding residents. #ZeroToleranceLagos
