She doesn't want to get harassed, chased or yelled at, irrespective of what she's saying. No Jewish public official should have to decide whether participating in civic life is worth the risk of being targeted because they're Jewish. Thank you, Attorney General Nessel, for speaking so candidly at today's roundtable with Jewish Michiganders about the impact that antisemitism has had not only on your community, but on you personally. And thank you to all those who shared their experiences.

NEW: ICE has abandoned plans for a new detention facility in Romulus, Michigan Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel released a statement today saying ICE will sell a warehouse on Cogswell Street purchased in February of this year Nessel, alongside the City of Romulus, sued ICE and DHS in March and sought to prevent conversion of the warehouse into an immigration detention center Nessel stated today that her office will keep the lawsuit active “until we have a signed agreement committing that DHS and ICE will never use this Romulus warehouse as a detention center and will list the property for sale”

That's a collusive act. That's one department head calling the other department head saying, hey, I need your department to act the way I want.
