I was able to speak to a woman whose family visited our triage center after her detention, and was able bring a smile to her face when I gave her a drawing that her daughter made for her. ICE tried unsuccessfully to limit my oversight today and will likely keep trying, but I’ll keep showing up for immigrant families in NY-10 to make sure their conditions of detention are appropriate.
