American Hamburger meat contains up to 10% of a “red slush” that doesn’t have to be included on the labels “All the big stores do it” “They have something, we call it the red Slurpee or Slush. When they have big packing plants to remove the meat from the cartilage and everything, they put it in an ammonia bath. And what happens is all that floats the top, they dry and palletize it. And legally, you can take that and add up to 10% to hamburger. You don't have to put it on the label. It's considered food. Reporter: It does raise some questions about the logic behind the tariffs in the first place. The fact that Trump is walking back those tariffs really undermines his own argument that it's only foreigners that pay the tariffs and that consumers are not going to be hurt. Now we have a situation where the White House is arguing that removing tariffs will lower prices on groceries. It's kind of hard to make sense of.
