Right now the Alberta separatists have enough signatures to trigger a referendum. But a judge in Alberta has of course put the signature validation process on pause & will decide if it should go further. Ya this is going to end well.

This feels like the future of Waymo in blue cities. Ordinary people just trying to get from point A to point B, hoping the local riffraff do not block the car just to vandalize it. The passenger handled it well by not reacting. Probably the smartest move.

What do you do when elected officials are hearing from their constituents, particularly drivers, who don’t want to see these safety improvements put in place? The last I checked, the mayor didn’t go block by block to ask if people wanted a fire station. We prioritize safety.

But if you want to do something that's fundamentally new, or particularly if it's counterintuitive, then you have to do a first principles analysis. You take things from what appear to be the fundamental, simple truths, and then reason up from there. And that requires a lot more thinking, and you can't do that for everything. Failure to file income tax returns is a federal criminal offense. If this applies to you as well, do not put this off another year. Danger, danger, danger. If you’re behind, initiate the filing immediately. Reconstruct the year or years as best you can, file something, and start cleaning it up. The IRS is far more likely to work with you when you come to them. If you're working your way out of a hole like this couple, don’t let this derail the progress you’ve worked so hard to make.
