Don't use art projects for load baring structures. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

If this fastener was so good then why isn't it widely used. That was the first thing that came to mind. Just a toy. We'll put this in the fidget spinner category.

Why is the bolt being restricted?

Stupidest take I've seen in a while.

what a load of BS... 🤣 this is a toy for skilled machinists 🙂

Try torquing that thing beyond 5 footpounds and... Oh wait, it won't even hold that!

hence the invention of the lock washer🤣

La gente se va triste de la ferretería porque es muy caro.

Interesting how a simple bolt can have such significant implications across different countries. Engineering restrictions often have a fascinating story behind them.Great post! I’d love to connect and follow more of your engineering insights. Follow back if you’re open to it! 🤝

Total BS and total BS heading. Stuff that this that makes me want to leave SoMe

Not great as a bolt; but how could that be used for machinery? Specifically those gears moving towards and away from each other like that

Nothing restricted in these videos showing several very different types of threading. Most "restrictions" on fasteners pertain to the metallurgy of the hardware, the method and means of construction (heat, tension, chemistry, bonding, accuracy and repeatability, torque, etc.)

Why would any country restrict the thread type of a bolt?

Most control

That is not a bolt. It is a novelty item.
