If Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS and DK Shivakumar cannot even manage Bengaluru’s basic infrastructure its roads, drainage, and overall civic amenities then how can they possibly handle the ambitious Tunnel Road project? With just 30 minutes of rain, the city's streets are already waterlogged, potholes are worsening, and daily commutes are turning into nightmares. If the existing roads cannot withstand a short spell of rain, what guarantee is there that a tunnel road won’t turn into an underground river during monsoons? DK Shivakumar and the Karnataka Congress government are busy making grand announcements under the so-called ‘Brand Bengaluru’ initiative, but where are the results? Instead of focusing on real issues like drainage, road maintenance, and traffic management, they are pushing flashy projects that serve more as political gimmicks than practical solutions. If they cannot even ensure that the current roads are safe and functional, how can citizens trust them with something as complex as a tunnel road? This is nothing but sheer negligence and misplaced priorities. The people of Bengaluru deserve better than broken promises, crumbling roads, and empty branding exercises. Before dreaming of ambitious infrastructure projects, the government must first prove that it can handle the basics. Otherwise, ‘Brand Bengaluru’ will remain nothing more than a failed PR stunt, while the city continues to sink both literally and figuratively. #bangalore #bengaluru #bangalorerains #bengalururains ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ BengaluruCityPolice ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸಂಚಾರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ BengaluruTrafficPolice CP Bengaluru ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು Joint CP, Traffic, Bengaluru DGP KARNATAKA alok kumar Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS Tushar Giri Nath, IAS S. Throwing garbage carelessly on roads, footpaths, and public spaces and then blaming bbmpcommissioner and Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS is not a solution. Civic responsibility begins with the people. Cleanliness is not only the duty of the administration; it is a basic civic sense that every citizen must practice. Dumping waste “here and there” reflects negligence, indiscipline, and a complete lack of respect for the city we live in. At the same time, civic sense cannot grow in isolation. It is also a genuine request and responsibility of BBMP and GBA to provide proper infrastructure for waste disposal. If garbage bins are placed on every street, at regular and accessible points, people will be far more likely to use them instead of littering the roads. Public convenience plays a critical role in shaping public behavior. So the real question is not one-sided blame. Is it the fault of citizens who lack discipline and basic civic sense? Or is it the fault of the administration for failing to provide essential facilities and systems? The truth is, both share responsibility. Citizens must stop using the absence of bins as an excuse to litter. Carrying waste home or disposing of it properly is a small but necessary act of responsibility. Clean cities are built by mindful citizens, not by slogans and complaints alone. However, authorities like BBMP and Greater Bengaluru Authority must also step up by ensuring adequate bins on every road, regular waste collection, awareness campaigns, and strict enforcement of rules. Only when civic sense from the people and efficient administration from authorities come together can we expect clean streets, healthier surroundings, and a city we can truly be proud of.Cleanliness is not optional. It is a shared duty, and blaming alone will never clean our roads. Karnataka State Police S. No matter whether the Chief Minister changes or not, the condition of Bengaluru's roads seems to remain the same. Just look at the state of this road. Thousands of citizens use this stretch every day for their daily commute, yet it has been reduced to what looks more like an off-road track than a city road. The entire stretch is filled with craters, broken surfaces, loose gravel, and missing tar. Driving here is not only uncomfortable but also dangerous for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. During rains, these potholes become even more hazardous, increasing the risk of accidents and vehicle damage. Citizens continue to pay taxes, road tax, fuel tax, and various other levies with the expectation of receiving basic infrastructure and safe roads. But looking at conditions like these, one question naturally arises: Where is the taxpayers' money going? Bengaluru deserves better. Safe and well-maintained roads are not a luxury they are a basic necessity for every citizen. Karnataka State Police S. A humble request From a Concerned Citizen of Koramangala 🙏 A citizen reported this and she said she live in the area. Her first spot in the morning at 7am is this ox chewing on food and plastic. She stepped out at 2am today for a walk and was surprised to see the ox spends so many hours here from night till early morning. While she is very glad the animal is getting the unused food, she request @deobbmp to cast some rules where food can be separated from the plastic bags - so both things serve their equal purpose. She also suggested that which are mention below 1. Making a designated area in the same street/or the back side (under a tree) where a drum can be placed. All brands can dump the unused food in the drum. They can collect plastic waste in plastic bags, but keep these bags out of reach of animals. 2. Specify timings of the drum. 12am-5am Between 5-6am municipality picks the leftover and then it goes to bin, not directly. 3. The staff working here are responsible for cleaning the branch out before closing. Allotting one of the staff to collect waste or leftover in one bucket through the day, so EOD dumping in common drum becomes hassle free. . This will also cater to better efficiency for municipal trucks that pick up the waste, as they wouldn’t require to sort the materials in separate bins. #bangalore #bengaluru #koramangala #wiprosignal #wiproparkbangalore Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS Greater Bengaluru Authority BBMP_SWM Cell bbmpcommissioner S. How many times should taxpayers pay for the same road ? Just 2–3 months after patchwork was carried out, the asphalt has already deteriorated to the point where it’s difficult to even tell that repairs were done. When we spoke to the engineer, we were informed that the earlier work was carried out by BWSSB, and because of poor quality, a fresh estimate is now being considered to repair the same stretch again. This raises some important questions, not just for one road, one constituency, or one department, but the entire city. If public money has already been spent once, who is accountable when the work fails within a matter of months? Was the restoration inspected before being accepted? Have we our such contractor? Does the contractor have a defect liability period or maintenance obligation, and if so, why should taxpayers pay again instead of enforcing those contractual obligations? How much of Bengaluru’s infrastructure budget is being spent on redoing work that should have lasted much longer? This isn’t about targeting any individual or political party. It’s about demanding transparency, quality, and accountability in the use of PUBLIC funds. Every rupee spent comes from the people. Every failed project deserves EXPLANATION. Every contractor and every department responsible for public works should be held to the same standard. Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS Krishna Byre Gowda Bengaluru deserves roads that last not roads that become recurring EXPENSES every few months. We urge the concerned authorities to clarify: • Who executed the original restoration? • What quality checks were conducted? • Will the contractor be held accountable if the work failed prematurely? • What safeguards are in place to prevent taxpayers from paying twice for the same POOR WORK? Let’s make accountability the standard, not the exception. #bangalore #bengaluru #road #gba #bbmp Greater Bengaluru Authority Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS BBMP_SWM Cell bbmpcommissioner DK Shivakumar S. Bengaluru’s Deadly Wires war zone Negligence That Could Kill You Anytime The horrifying incident yesterday on the Inner Ring Road (IRR), where a scooter rider got entangled in a hanging cable, is a serious reminder of the dangers lurking on our streets. Sadly, this is not an isolated case such incidents are becoming increasingly common across Bengaluru. A tangled web of loose, abandoned, and unidentified wires hangs dangerously over roads and footpaths, posing constant risks of accidents and even electrocution. Every day, commuters are forced to navigate these hazards, putting their lives at risk due to sheer negligence. The lack of accountability from authorities is deeply concerning. Despite repeated incidents, there has been no serious effort to fix the problem. Poor coordination between civic bodies and service providers has turned public infrastructure into a threat rather than a support system. It is unacceptable that a global city like Bengaluru, known for innovation and progress, continues to struggle with such basic safety issues. Along with illegal flex boards and poorly managed utilities, these hanging cables are making roads more dangerous day by day. Many accidents have already occurred due to this issue, and unless immediate action is taken, more lives will be at risk. Authorities must act now identify and remove unused cables, enforce strict regulations, and ensure proper maintenance. Bengaluru deserves safer roads. Negligence cannot continue at the cost of human lives. #bangalore #bengaluru #accident #irr Maheshwar Rao.M, IAS Greater Bengaluru Authority INTEGRATED COMMAND AND CONTROL CENTRE Karnataka State Police S. Bengaluru's Biggest Monsoon Tradition: Flooded Roads and Empty Promises This is Bengaluru. Looking at these visuals, one would think it is a swimming pool, not one of the city's major roads. The irony is that despite endless claims of development, smart infrastructure, and rapid urban growth, the same roads turn into waterlogged stretches every single time it rains. Just look at the water level. Vehicles are struggling to move, commuters are stranded, and residents are forced to wade through flooded roads. This is not an isolated incident or a one-time problem. It has become a recurring story across Bengaluru whenever there is moderate or heavy rainfall. The bigger question is: where are taxpayers' hard-earned money and infrastructure funds going? Citizens pay road tax, property tax, and numerous other charges with the expectation of basic civic amenities. Yet year after year, the city continues to witness the same drainage failures, poor road planning, and lack of accountability.Authorities issue promises after every monsoon, conduct inspections, and announce new projects, but the ground reality remains unchanged. If Bengaluru is truly India's technology capital, why are its residents still battling flooded roads every rainy season? Development cannot be measured by announcements and advertisements alone it must be reflected in the quality of infrastructure that citizens use every day.Until authorities fix the root causes of poor drainage, unplanned construction, and inadequate road infrastructure, Bengaluru's roads will continue to resemble swimming pools rather than the modern urban network that residents deserve. Karnataka State Police S. This is one of the worst stretches in Bengaluru, and unfortunately, this is not the first time it has been waterlogged. Year after year, every time heavy rain hits the city, this underpass turns into a lake, causing severe inconvenience to commuters, damaging vehicles, and putting lives at risk. Despite repeated incidents and countless complaints from citizens, nothing seems to have changed. The most frustrating part is that this problem is entirely predictable. Authorities know exactly what happens here during every monsoon, yet there appears to be no permanent solution or effective drainage system in place. Instead, residents and daily commuters are forced to suffer the same ordeal repeatedly while promises of infrastructure improvements remain on paper. Citizens pay taxes expecting better roads, proper stormwater management, and safe public infrastructure. However, situations like this raise serious questions about planning, accountability, and maintenance. How many more years will people have to endure the same issue before meaningful action is taken? A city aspiring to be a global technology hub cannot afford to have critical roads and underpasses flooded after every spell of rain. Public issues deserve attention, and citizens deserve better than the same recurring problem year after year. Karnataka State Police S. Encroachment Mafia Thriving: Public Rights Crushed Under Shopkeepers’ Illegal Expansion Now the city’s footpaths are turning into display zones for mannequins and boards, all because some shopkeepers feel entitled to encroach on public space. They have taken over the pedestrian pathway, placed their items right on the footpath, and even built temporary illegal structures as if the area belongs to them. And when someone asks them to remove these obstructions, they start arguing, behaving arrogantly, and shamelessly saying, “Go complain to the authorities. What kind of behaviour is this? Footpaths exist for pedestrians to walk safely not for a few irresponsible, high-handed individuals to run their business illegally. These people are not just violating rules; they are showing complete disrespect towards citizens, public property, and the law. The city cannot be held hostage by such arrogant shopkeepers who think they can do anything and get away with it. Strict action must be taken against these encroachers so that public spaces remain for the public not for these goons who misuse them for personal profit. Karnataka State Police S. Bengaluru College Suspends Three Staff Members After Student Forced to Remove Sacred Thread at CET Centre Bengaluru The Karnataka Examinations Authority (#KEA) has initiated an inquiry against three staff members following allegations that students were forced to remove their sacred threads (#Janivara) before entering a Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026 hall. The college administration has suspended the three staff members involved in the incident. The incident, which occurred on April 23, 2026, has sparked widespread outrage. The controversy surfaced after a student, appearing for Physics and Chemistry papers at #Krupanidhi Pre-University College, recounted his experience to the media. The candidate alleged that despite complying with rules regarding metallic objects, officials peeked under his clothing and demanded the removal of his religious thread. "I argued that I wasn’t wearing metallic items and nothing was written on it, but they wouldn’t let me in," the student stated. "They forced me to remove it. It’s our religious sentiment... I was so tense I could not write the exam properly." The student noted that at least three to four other candidates were subjected to similar demands. The Executive Director of the KEA addressed a formal letter to the District Collector of #Bengaluru City, expressing grave concern. The KEA clarified that explicit instructions had been issued during staff training, citing past controversies, stipulating that religious symbols such as the sacred thread and Lingayat Ishtalinga must not be removed. The KEA stated that if these guidelines were violated, it appears to be a “prima facie intentional act” by the personnel involved. Krupanidhi PU College Principal Ashim Afzal issued immediate suspension orders for three staff members: Mr. Sudhakar , Mrs. Saritha and Mrs. Girijamma. The suspension is pending a full investigation. Additionally, the Madiwala Police have registered an FIR to investigate the alleged harassment and violation of religious freedoms. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ KEA DCP SouthEast BCP CP Bengaluru ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ BengaluruCityPolice

Let’s be absolutely clear with the facts from today’s “march against the far right” which I attended from the start. 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 1. These were left-wing organisations from all over the UK. Every union under the sun was in attendance. National Education Union are definitely indoctrinating children within the teacher and school environment, just look at their presence today. It is very concerning. Watch what they teach your kids. They, as an education union, along with Unite the union: join a union, were also fighting over who got to be at the front of the march today, thanks to two lesbian powerhouses not having it. Comedy gold 😂 2. The second video shows over 100 coaches being used to bus in all these so-called “concerned citizens” on organised transport. They are all part of a left-wing narrative which just doesn’t work anymore, we see exactly what they are doing. That was the entire left-wing loony left in attendance. That’s it. That’s them. This is a major point! We have millions who know what’s right, and the left wing in this country is about to get the shock of their lives in the next elections, swept off the map. That was a panic march. They know it’s coming! 3. There was no working class at this march! Fact! It was all middle and upper class people who attend the usual Palestine marches and Palestine Action events. They hate the Union Jack flag and they hate the working class. This was a stunt by the well-organised unions to pretend the country is behind them which it is not. And that was clear as day to witness today. Also a clear panic march. 4. We don’t have much to worry about. These people are not in the real world. They are privileged and wealthy. And as I said, that’s the crowd, that’s them. They are in total fantasy land, and it’s now time for the adults to get back in charge. 5. Long live England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿✝️🇬🇧

Goons in Bengaluru Show No Fear of Law Early-Morning Robbery at Shantinagar Road Robbery cases in Bengaluru are becoming disturbingly common, and it is clear that these street goons have absolutely no fear of law or consequences. Even at 4:30 AM, when most people expect the roads to be silent and safe, criminals are roaming freely and targeting innocent citizens.A shocking incident took place on Shantinagar Road, where a person travelling on his two-wheeler was reportedly robbed by three scooter-borne goons. The gang first overtook the victim’s scooter and snatched the key while still in motion, deliberately putting his life in danger. As the victim struggled to balance his vehicle, two of the criminals jumped in, robbed him ruthlessly, and fled the spot without any hesitation. This kind of organised street robbery clearly shows how emboldened these criminals have become. They roam the city like they own the streets overtaking, threatening, and attacking innocent people. Such behaviour isn't just criminal, it's pure cowardice. These goons don't have the courage to earn an honest living, so they resort to cheap tactics and violence. The rising number of such incidents raises a serious question: Where is the fear of law? Why are these goons moving so confidently on public roads, as if no police action can touch them? Bengaluru residents deserve safe streets, not highways ruled by criminals.Authorities must intensify patrolling, especially during early hours, and ensure that such gangs are tracked down and punished. Until then, ordinary people continue to be the victims of criminals who misuse the darkness to commit crimes without shame or fear. Joint CP, Traffic, Bengaluru DGP KARNATAKA S.
