THE BROKEN ECONOMICS OF DATABASES (or, why all databases are doomed to suck) I cover a very good article by Almog Gavra where he explains: • why infra companies can have absurdly-high gross margins yet still risk bankruptcy • why moats & unfair advantages (distribution, production) matter • why...

Ford CEO Jim Farley on why it's so difficult for legacy car companies to get software right & why Tesla’s vertically integrated approach is the right one: “We farmed out all the modules that control the vehicles to our suppliers because we could bid them against each other, so Bosch would do the body control module, someone else would do the seat control module, someone else would do the engine control module. We have about 150 of these modules with semiconductors all through the car. The problem is the software are all written by you know 150 different companies and they don't talk to each other. So even though it says Ford on the front, I actually have to go to Bosch to get permission to change their seat Control software. So even if I had a high-speed modem in the vehicle and and I had the ability to write their software, it's actually their IP and I have 150, we call it the loose Confederation of software providers, 150 completely different software programming languages, you know all the structure of the software is different. It’s millions of code and we can't even understand it all. That's why at Ford we've decided in the second generation product to completely insource electric architecture. To do that you need to write all the software yourself, but just remember car companies have never written software like this, ever, so we're literally writing how the vehicle operates the software to operate the vehicle for the first time ever.” via Everything Electric Show:

All tax evasion should be called out. Following up on yesterday’s post in regard to the taxation of offshore Oil and Gas companies it was pointed out that Oil and Gas companies can shift their profits offshore to avoid tax in Australia. That’s 100% correct, but it’s not isolated to just Oil and Gas companies. Offshore profit shifting is rampant amongst all multinationals. Why don’t the Greens or David Pocock have a 25% export tax on all profits sent offshore? Why can Pfizer, Meta etc send billions of dollars offshore to avoid paying tax here in Australia? Why can Australian companies especially banks, offshore jobs to India and the Philippines without paying any withholding tax. Why don’t renewable companies, 70% owned by foreigners have to pay a royalty on our sunlight and water? is the only party to have a policy on profit shifting and is the only party to have consistently raised these issues in estimates and the Senate. We will raise the withholding tax rate on profits transferred to treaty countries to 25% and on interest income paid to all countries to 30%. This will prevent capital from leaving Australia and ensure that profits generated domestically contribute to our economy, rather than being funnelled offshore. Additionally, an operating profit ratio test will be introduced to further strengthen transfer pricing rules and prevent the leakage of profits abroad. If you’re going to call out one industry for tax evasion then call out all companies. Otherwise you’re just demonising the industries you’re trying to destroy.

The edited version of my presentation on Marxism at the University of Dallas last year (minus Q n A) 🔥🔥🔥 Why are western countries being hit with mass immigration? Why the insistence that they owe third world countries? And why are they being forced to be multi-ethnic 'multicultural' member states of world? Why is woke everywhere? Why is your country's establishment, MSM, education system, civil service, and NGO complex riddled with 'social justice warriors'? Why are we seeing a breakdown in law and order? Why the double-standards in policing that is clearly biased to the immigrants? Why the attack on Christianity, yet the promotion of Islam? Why has abortion been normalised even though the birthrates have plummeted over the decades? Why the attempts by governments to create draconian 'hate speech' laws? Why do they try to modify or reinterpret the constitution? Why are they so keen to 'go green' even though it cripples the economy? Why are we hearing talk of confiscating private property for 'the common good'? Why - despite the destructive insanity of these things - is there a massive amount of people in each country either oblivious or in outright denial? Frustratingly, why do they try to marginalise and silence anyone who highlights them? We are at WAR with a cult movement driven by an internationalist revolutionary ideology that has many forms. The signs are there in front of us every day, but without the knowledge, most are still not joining the dots... Please share! All reposts appreciated 🙏👍

Oh how the towels turn, indeed. Also, I again apologize to Attorney Melanie Little. Jason Broyles and his friends from Kate Peter's Discord tried to manipulate the public into thinking the horrible Hailey account was Melanie. Kate, a PI, knew Hailey was Jason the entire time. I think Kate planted Broyles in Aidan's circle (and let Broyles use Lindsey and her family, along with Brian Tully's leak of Lindsey's unrwdacted cellphone --with only messages from Tully to Lindsey, and from Kate to Lindsey, removed-- to make it happen). Were the Roccos and Merdeith also moles for Kate, Tully or someone in their orbit? Why did Jen McCabe hire Marty Kraft's PI firm all the way back in February of 2022 to spy on the visitors to Karen's home? Why did Kate Peter join that PI firm in the fall of 2023, right after Aidan Kearney started helping Karen with coverage of her case? Why does Meredith have connections in Canton that go back decades? Why is her ex friends with an active Canton Cop? Why are half the people involved in this connected to state or local police and attempting to hide? Why do certain local cops do favors for this network? Why did towel go to feds? Why is towel as hard as it gets? And why those fools not riding if they're part of your set? And if all good, why are they coming for TB with a nine? Why did what was done to Sandra Birchmore have to hit the floor? Why did those Stoughton cops look at her as "a worthless whore"? And why, even though it's almost all over, is everyone fundamentally afraid of love? All that I've been given are these words that I've been gifted, and trying to make it my way got me sent up the highway. So tell me why Brian Tully had to be crooked before I popped that clutch? And, frankly, if you don't smoke then why the fuck are you reaching for my dutch?

$PLTR THIS IS WHY ALEX KARP IS ALEX MF KARP. “The typical way you are taught to build a software company is your customer thinks they are getting laid but they’re actually getting f’ed. We used to internally say that Palantir is actually in the mutually pleasuring business.” Couple points of analysis here… 1. He’s right. Completely 1000% correct. Traditional software companies build software they can sell, not software that is meant to provide value, which is why they can never achieve a Rule of 40 well beyond 40 or why so much of their revenue is spent on sales & marketing. Building something that works is much, much harder. 2. One thing I’ve noticed about Karp, which quite frankly was the reason I invested years ago, is his willingness to take risks with his rhetoric. Most CEOs self-censor themselves, are afraid to be charismatic, and keep it very cookie-cutter. In today’s world, AUTHENTICITY is the only thing that works to break through the noise. Karp making a bit of a vulgar joke not only lightened the mood and got peoples’ attention — the joke, as all good jokes, was rooted in truth! The ability to attach effective charisma, charm, and excitement towards delivering that message is what matters. People will say that these types of communication tactics are inconsequential— I’d say Palantir’s multiple disagrees. People invest in someone who can get them to believe in their vision. They also want to invest in someone who says what they believe in…when it comes to politics, how Karp feels about analysts that wrote of the business in 2022, or the software industrial complex — he is going to tell you what he actually feels. People want to invest in someone that genuinely cares about their mission & isn’t going to hide behind their truth when they communicate publicly. In a world of full of grifting, BS, and manipulation…Alex Karp is the authentic CEO that the public markets need which is part of the reason why people care about his company.
