They may have subjugated us but it wasn't without effect on them. Rome needed a huge army to control the Celts & since they commanded a massive army the governors would launch wars for imperial power. It happened 5 times!! Magnus Maximus & Constantine III became emperors from it.

Brilliant addition. The fact that Britain was so hard to hold that it kept producing rival emperors is an incredible story in itself. Magnus Maximus is definitely one we need to cover 👏

Maiden Castle is just south of Dorchester. It’s really impressive. Far more than Stonehenge in my opinion. It could accommodate up to 10,000 people and livestock. There are still foundation of a Roman temple and the views from the top of the concentric ridges are breathtaking.

The Celts were always in Europe along the Atlantic. They didn't "arrive" ... they are indigenous.

There were actually people here long before them. I share DNA with CheddarMan. My ancestors were here 10,000 years ago.

The Romans got so frustrated after trying multiple times to conquer the Scots that they built Hadrians wall, yet the Highlanders still raided south across it. No one including the Normans, Vikings or Anglo Saxons ever fully subjugated the Scots despite their best efforts.

They were the indigenous peoples of England. Now they are allowing colonization by people who will destroy their culture.

Had a recent DNA test. 96% Celt. My ancestors have been here for years.

Is there language the same? Is this who built Stonehenge? How do we know these stories? Sorry ... tons of questions ... very interesting.

You say the Celts came in waves. Where did they come from?

Central Europe originally. The Hallstatt and La Tène cultures spread westward over centuries. But it’s worth noting the modern view is less ‘invasion waves’ and more gradual cultural spread and migration. It’s a whole video in itself!

Not sure about Britain but the earliest record of Celts on the island of Ireland is ~500BC. Mount Sandel settlement in County Antrim dates to ~7000BC. Just one of 100’s of sites that pre date their arrival.

Typical.. Seen this a lot from your account.. Glorifying stuff that's not completely 100% correct.. You've forgotten the land bridge when Uk is believed to be connected to the rest of Europe.. Do your own research peeps!!

In the previous video you said the angles and Saxons arrived to find nothing but they found a land with native Britons mixed with Romans. There were hundreds of tribes across the land.

One thing worth mentioning is that the Brythonic and Celtic people are never wiped out or replaced, rather than assimilated. Modern Britons still hold Celtic and Brythonic DNA.
