Not all non-stick pans are made with Teflon. We just need to do proper research before buying them and ensure you buy from reputable brands. Avoid buying ridiculously cheap or fairly used ones.

Dark waters gave a proper account of what this Dr. Is saying here. Mark Ruffalo did an incredible job in the movie. NB: DuPont settled for over $700m and also paid fine of $17m or thereabout to EPA.

Toxin #4: Non-Stick Cookware and Teflon Chemicals Dr. Jana Schmidt turned the conversation toward the kitchen and revealed one of the most overlooked dangers hiding in plain sight: your pans. She talked about the documentary Dark Waters, which tells the true story of a lawyer who uncovered how DuPont poisoned thousands of people using Teflon chemicals in their non-stick cookware. These toxic compounds weren’t just staying on the pans—they were leaching into the air and water, and causing serious harm. Dr. Schmidt said she’ll cover this and more in her section of the upcoming AGES event, including how to cook and store your food without adding dangerous toxins to the mix. Because when it comes to feeding your family, “it all matters.”

Non-stick cookware is one of the most pervasive and hazardous household sources of PFAS exposure. PFAS are called “forever chemicals” because they can remain in the body on the order of years. They’re used to make products non-stick, water or oil-repellent, and stain-resistant. The key issue is adding heat. Heating PFAS-based non-stick pans increases the potential for exposure, especially as coatings age or degrade. PFAS have been linked to endocrine disruption and adverse health outcomes, so minimizing avoidable sources like frequently heating old/scratched non-stick cookware makes sense. My recommendation? Choose stainless steel, seasoned cast iron, carbon steel, or high-quality ceramic cookware instead. They're the simplest, lowest-risk, and most effective alternatives. From my recent appearance on TRIGGERnometry.

One of the brilliant things about Casino is how the camera is essentially a character in and of itself, moving through the film as a spectator, glancing around, scanning the environment. Scorsese referred to this as "secret observations by an omniscient viewer." Casino has to explain an enormous amount of information early on: how the Tangiers operates, how the money moves, and how organised crime controls the entire system. To make that information easy to process, Scorsese developed a visual style that moves the audience rapidly through the casino’s inner machinations. As he explains... “There are a lot of tracks and zooms; as well as pans and zip-pans. There are also more static angles, cut together very quickly, because of all the information being crammed into the frame. If you did too much moving you wouldn't be able to see what we're trying to show. So that became the style—a kind of documentary.” Scorsese's quote comes from

Today is no different than the other 81 games… Today is kind of the perfect example of just the locker and the group of guys that we have, and how important it is that everybody knows that if you're on the floor, you're expected to play a certain way, and put us in position to win.”

Elon Musk explains why the CEO must work on the “most pernicious and painful problems” “A lot of times people think creating a company is going to be fun. I would say it’s really not that fun. There are periods of fun, and there are periods where it’s just awful. Particularly if you’re the CEO of the company. You actually have a distillation of all the worst problems in the company. There’s no point in spending your time on things that are going right. So you only spend your time on things that are going wrong that other people can’t take care of… the most pernicious and painful problems.” Elon believes founders need to have a “fairly high pain threshold” and explains that starting a company is like “staring into the abyss and eating glass.” “The staring into the abyss part is that you’re going to be constantly facing the extermination of the company because most startups fail… You’re constantly saying, okay, if I don’t get this right, the company will die. It’s going to be quite stressful. And then the eating glass part is you’ve got to work on the problems that the company needs you to work on, not the problems you want to work on. And so you end up working on problems that you’d really wish you weren’t working on… And that goes on for a long time.” Video source: Khan Academy

"If you can take the concept of Easter and Passover and translate it into Afrikan context, juxtaposing it with the resurrection of Jesus, are we going to be resurrected on Sunday as Afrikans? Free from colonial budgets, free from the colonial health system, free from the colonial education system, free from the colonial economy, free from the colonial political system?" -Maponga Joshua III

Moses Kajwang: We as the representatives of the people, the state of the nation is as follows: Kenyans are hungry, Kenyans are broke, children and the education system is broken, our health sector is broken. The President speaks today as if he belongs to an alternative universe. In his presentation, he has focused on macroeconomic indicators to paint the picture that Kenyans are doing very well. I think that is far from the truth #StateOfTheNationAddress

The Bill is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to build an education system that is more effective and more equitable. The passage of this Bill follows an extensive consultation process that sought to take account of views and suggestions from across society. Consultation, engagement and debate are defining features of our democracy. They enrich the policies that are adopted and the laws that are passed. The law that we are signing today further opens the doors of learning.
