I never understood why Pope Francis responded this way.

He is not a Francis 2.0., and there would be no problem if he were, the problem is that many think that Francis was a “liberal heretic” (which is a stupid view). Every pope has his own style, but if he is faithful and righteous in the eyes of God, there is nothing wrong.
